Island's New Year.JAN 2015.
Hi guys it's been a while.
This is just another quick matte paint over I did on an old artwork (which is based on a photograph I took from Penang Hill) like months ago. Hope you guys like it!

The foreground dark shading, including the figure, help to set the night time darkness. The colors stand out sharply because of their (relative) rarity in the art piece. The clouds give a fantasy feel, which is enhanced by the whale in the background. The details, including the fireworks, buildings and all the lights really add to give a realistic effect. There is a sense of adventure in the air, and it makes me think the person is not so much interested in all the city lights as in getting over there and catching the whale! The picture has a well-balanced feel to it, and I would say this is a successful piece of art. Great job.

Just WOW! I just wish the contrast between the city and the foreground child was a bit more so you could see it better. This makes me happy looking at it. The whales were a real surprise as I couldn't see them in the thumbnail. Love this piece very much
