Dusty Pages is a part of the Sparkle family now, argue in the comments. She does have a strong resemblance to Twilight, it makes more than a little sense how her genes passed onto her recessively.

Anyways, here's a giant headcannon about how Twilight Velvet and Night Light got together:

Twilight Velvet was born to the a young librarian, Dusty Pages, being the result of a one night stand. Twilight grew up without a father, in a small house in the outskirts of Canterlot. She didn't get much attention from her mother, since she was at the library half of the time. Because of this she always acted out of the ordinary to grab ponies' attention, either by styling her mane in a crazy fashion, wearing neon accessories, or acting out in class. Due to her ''bravery'' and love for sports, Twilight became really popular with the colts. She had at least 10 boyfriends by the age of 13. However, due to all of this, she became known as the school's whore and recieved a lot of harassment, because of that. Dusty wasn't a big fan of her daughter's behavior either. She was always outside of the house, often coming home way pass her bedtime. This caused a lot of conflict, which Dusty Pages hoped to solve when she moved her daughter in a school closer to the center of Canterlot (she also moved, because of the bullying).

At that school was attended by more civilized ponies, such as Night Light. Night Light was one of the many nerds attending the school. Well dressed, circular glasses, a slim frame, the usual. However, he wasn't getting teased for it. He had his own group of nerdy friends from his class and they were all happy together. Enter Twilight Velvet. When the teacher announced that a new foal was moving to their school, and when she showed up to class a few minutes late, with dyed highlights and make up, sat next to our goodie 2 shoes unicorn boy, he lost it. Lost No Simptember.

Over the next few weeks he would try to catch her attention by many cringy gestures he'd like to forget now that he is an adult, but Twilight appreciated his niceness and a year later, vow and behold, Night Light has a girlfriend and is no longer a virgin.

Of course, having a crazy scene mlp gf came at a cost. Twilight was a ''wild'' teen and even though she respected Night's desire not to do ''the act'' on most nights he came over to help her study. However they were both horny, hormonal teenagers, so they did bump a couple of times. Then Twilight got pregnant. At 15.

When, her mother found the pregnancy test in the trash, she imminently got into an argument with her daughter, which ended with her kicking her out of the house. She ended up taking refuge in Night Light's house, except all of his family was there too, so it would be awkward to tell them the exact reason, why she was kicked out of her own home, so they left the pregnancy part out (she only told Night about it).

Dusty did feel a lot of guilt for her actions. She had been in a similar situation, after all. So, a week or so later, she went looking for her daughter to apologize. Luckily she was exactly where she expected her to be.

However, with her visit came the news that the responsible and studious middle child of the family had gotten his classmate pregnant.

Needless, to say Night Light's parents were a more than a little disappointment, but they knew they couldn't do anything so they offered their child and his girlfriend support. Twilight made up with her daughter and it's a happy day for everypony.

Several moths later, Shining Armor was born, which taught Twilight a lesson about responsibility or whatever.

Twilight dropped her education after high school to take care of her son. Night Light kept studying until he graduated college, got a really good job and was able to afford a nice living place for himself, is son and his future wife. Thwy eventually got married and luckily, Night's job was well-paid enough for them so Twilight didn't have to work.

Another change happened to the family 15 years after Shining's birth. He had always wanted a sibling, and Night and Twilight's family had always felt somewhat incomplete and thus they had a second foal- Twilight Sparkle.

And they al lived happily ever after bhashahtsrthjsrutjhsaehaeyhahyrtgfdhdfghgfjghjghgjREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Here's a lil's headcannon for Shining Armor and Cadence now because I love torturing myself:

Shining had always been picked on by his peers, which made take on self-defense classes, where he discovered his love for martial arts and decided he wanted to be a royal guard when he grew up.

Upon graduating high school he enlisted in the royal guard training program, in which he did pretty well, but he did even better after sucking up to the queen's adopted daughter. That's how their relationship started out. Just friends with benifits, but as time went on they started developing genuine feelings for each other and started dating. They kept their relationship a secret, and was only publicly out when Shining proposed to her. You know the rest of the story.

I would tell you Twilight and Sunset's love story, but it's in Twilight's backstory so go find and read.

Anyways, Dusty Pages died from natural causes, I can't imagine her living up to this moment.
