Sorry for the random The Last Unicorn quote, but it's the only thing that came to mind at the moment?
Eh, I needed to practice more on starting totally digital. Normally I draw on paper, and if I post something digitally, it's usually been a scan of a drawn sketch that I then take into SAI and/or Krita. I'm rather nervous about just starting a piece digitally to begin with, but for some reason tonight I just had the urge to practice.
Have a Galatea, because she's been camped out on my muse for a while now, waiting for me to draw her. And trust me, a waiting Kryptonian is scary in her own right. 0O;; -proceeds to scuttle off to get back to work on the next chapter of Being Human because I need more of Galatea, Anthea, and Tony-

If you try to do shadow effects and do it in layers, your characters will get very roundish and real

This is an absolutely exceptional drawing to say you started out digitally, gosh Yoru I love it! (You also make me slightly envious because it came out so well, and I alas cannot digitally draw freehand to save my poor soul! 8D)
I have to say though, I'm really digging the sketchy feel to this doodle of yours! And ofc, it's always nice to see more Galatea in my gallery ;;

I know, when I started to draw digitally, I'd have to draw it on paper first before taking a picture and tracing over it.Β
It takes a bit of practice, but I bet you can totally get the hang of it!

I am definitely going to keep trying, that's for certain! I think that I just prefer the way my sketches and lines turn out on paper, because I feel like they seem more organic that way, but oooohhh my gosh, digital coloring is a wonderful thing!

I enjoy my lines on paper because I feel like I have more control, although I think that's just because I'm still learning XD. But digital coloring is SOO much easier for me! Shading, not so much.Β

That's probably how I feel about it somewhere at the core of my nervousness. There's more natural control over the drawing if you're working in traditional for a sketch. But ohhh my gosh, digital coloring with its color precision and the things you can do is a dream come true!
