PUPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! :3I've been wanting to draw Isabelle for the longest time (aside from old swapnote drawings I drew, that no one but my friends were able to see)... so here she finally is. :m
I never played an Animal Crossing game before New Leaf... So a few years ago, when New Leaf was a ....... New ReLeaf(no? :n)......... I decided to give it a shot. I'm not really interested in sims that you build, decorate,and generally live in. But for what I played of the game.... it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it enough until things just got to be a bit too repetitive. Nothing extra to do aside go to the Island and get money to buy/upgrade stuff. So repeatedly digging spots, picking up shells, shaking trees, etc. day in and day out gets old to me, fast. And then when you play with your friends, everyone bitches at you for running in the grass. :/ Who cares if the town's grass isn't 100% green? If you're so anal about some damn grass, don't invite friends over. :m So yeah..... dealing with that from various peeps wasn't too fun, either. And then the thing that kinda hurt my experience even more....... Y'see I am a black person..... and I made a villager to represent myself..... The only skin option you had at the time was white, unless you burn yourself in the sun enough (which didn't work for me.) So after enough time, I was able to unlock the Mii mask to try and make it more representative of myself... but the thing about that... I have a black person head, but my body is still white... so it just looks horrible, and stupid. (I think I heard it was finally fixed in a recent patch not too long ago.) My experience with the game wasn't entirely the greatest. It was nice at 1st cuz I was new to it, but it just got old after a month or so. The best part of the game is all the different animals. If not for them the game wouldn't be worth playing at all. :n But yeah... Animal Crossing is just not for me.Β
Hopefully any future games can interest me more by giving you way more to do to be able to enjoy the game a lot longer.

If you think that is repetitive, don't even bother playing Tomodachi Life, it's even less of a game. The best part of the game by far is the humor and the amount of stuff you can buy for the miis and apartments, but the fact you have little control over what the islanders do just bothers me so much. So at least I can say you have more control over what you wanna do in Animal Crossing. You're more than anything just an observer in TL. You just watch what the little tikes do on your island, interact with them just a little bit and that's it.
Nice work broski, she looks simply adorable in your style, which is no surprise to others, but it is to me because you drew her like she is represented in the games!

My problem with Animal Crossing is if I miss a day or two, I end up having a really hard time motivating myself to go back and play it. Still one of my favorite series, and if there's a new one on Switch I'll definitely be picking it up. Also, good to finally see a colored Isabelle from you! She's my personal favorite of the new characters from New Leaf.

That was really well made, Yoshiman!! I hear ya man. I also gave New Leaf a chance, and I'm really a guy that is into doing repetitive stuff, but I just couldn't see any much fun of it after a few days. Β Probably my only 3DS game I regret purchasing. Oh well. Maybe you can take a look at Mario Sports Superstars. Β Five sports to play, at least it'll keep you interested for more than a month.Β

I actually DON'T wanna get that game. It's like a super neutered collection of games that were far more fleshed out as stand alone titles. I mean.... the fact that there is normal Soccer with no items, or fun gimmicks pains me, after having Strikers, which was a chaotic game, but super fun. Same with Sluggers, having the items and gimmick fields. Nowhere to be seen in Sports Superstars. So yeah..... looking into it, I wasn't impressed, and don't wish to waste my money on it. It COULD be a lot more fun than it looked, but I'm not taking that chance.

Influence from friends is what got me to give it a shot. I don't regret buying the game at all. I just regret the fact that it didn't capture my interest enough to wanna play more games in the series.

Wow, this is quite a surprise! Always wondered what a character from that series would look like in your style. Isabelle is the perfect choice to do just that.
Hah, I miss when the game was still popular when more friends were into it. My villagers still wear your YM jersey design around town. Granted, I have an interesting connection with the game...since I partially credit it with helping me to get through a tough time the best I could four years ago with dealing with my Mom's last few weeks with us. When things didn't make sense, and I was struggling to keep going, the game was there for me and invited me in to a world that was happy and cheerful, yet relaxing and peaceful at the same time. I'd play it almost every day. I don't play it as much as I once did, though I still go back into it here and there to see what my town is up to. And it's sort of a comforting feeling to still revisit it these days and to enjoy some of that downtime with it. Despite the repetitious nature of the gameplay and villager interactions, it still has its charm in my eye. I really have to hand it to the folks at Nintendo for their work on the series. It's just an all-around great franchise that delivers memorable experiences that I hope will continue to endure for years to come.
Anyway...hope you don't mind my bit of rambling there; just felt like sharing my thoughts I suppose. Very nice rendition of everyone's favorite friendly hard working shitzu. :b

And nah, it's all good, man. I rambled enough in my description, there. :v I personally prefer games that have more action involved... like..... the sim aspect is fine. but if they gave me action type activities to sink my time into, like Stardew Valley with the cave exploration... I probs woulda stayed on board with AC..... Also, I had issues with corrupted data. >_____>

Yeah, I'm truly thankful for having outlets like that available to me when there's tough events in life you have to deal with.Β It's funny, that sometimes when you're younger you don't quite realize that video games can have not only an entertainment effect for you but also a comforting one in times you'd never expect to be playing video games.Β You tend to realize that a bit more the older you get.Β
And yes, they are extremely trendy. xDΒ Never goes out of style.Β It also probably helps I haven't wanted to replace the display design you put with your jersey in my Able Sisters shop from the time you visited my town.Β I think it'll always be there, and for good reason.
Mm, I agree with you there actually.Β It took that update back in November to get me coming back more often to visit my town than I had in the passing time before then.Β My activity kind of tapered back off a bit again since then, but I do enjoy going back in to build a movie theater using a third villager.Β I think that's part of what keeps me coming back too, that I can create new places to visit in the town by using the homes of new villagers to do so.Β I'd have even purchased a DLC pack if Nintendo had put one out, that would be a whole bunch of new conversations to have with your villagers and new things for them to say to you.Β That would've been fun, haha.

LOL, people get anal at you for stepping on grass? That's kinda petty. o3o Also, They actually DID resolve that Mii mask issue in the update, so that's a relief. Furthermore, they actually let you choose your skin color in Happy Home Designer. Hopefully that's something they stick with in future AC games.
The Animal Crossing titles have always been a "quality of life" sorta genre. Just decorate your home, build the town, make friends, and overall just live life. Not much happens in terms of omg excitement, unless you go hunting for tarantulas and scorpions during summer nights. o3o3o

Nice work bro! From the description it reminds me when I first played Animal Crossing. But I started in City Folk then went onto New Leaf. But overall nice work on drawing Isabelle.
