true, but the whole explaining that its because of an over bearing parent IN HIGH SCHOOL would make it in the best interest of the school to side with the student, not the parent, because the biggest things high school is supposed to teach are not academic. They are: figuring out your career, and deciding things for yourself, if the parent doesn't allow their child to do that, then they are well within their rights to discus it with the parent, and because Amanda is almost 18, and therefore in the "can be tried as an adult while still technically a minor"-age, with a bit of paperwork her voice in discussions regarding Amanda's academic career can be made inconsequential... Ok a bit more than a little paperwork, quite a lot of it actually, however not impossible.
