Description
I suppose I may now go into detail. This year my boyfriend and I decided to go as Jack and Sally from Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas. yes I know original (not!) It was quite fun to hear people say "OMG is Jack and Sally and Zero! Those are awesome costumes!!" But me being so picky didn't think mine was so great.Anyways I started too late and as such I had to instead of making my own costume buy one all ready made and edit it. I cut the seams, added the stitching, painted and edited the wig to make it look better. After much searching for stockings I just decided to paint all of my body blue and add the stitching with an eyeliner. The pictures darken the blue when in reality is really just a very paleish bluish but it worked for the day, and of course I made my eyelashes look larger and added purple eyeshadow. My lips and nails are painted red and you can't see it here but I used dancing slippers and black and white striped socks for my feet. This made my feet look tiny and more Sally like. Mind you I plan to do this costume again when I can actually make the dress from scratch.
Onto jack.
Jack...my boyfriend has the luck to have a mom that can sew and truth to be told the most difficult part of jack's costume was drawing in the lines. Unlike Sally his costume when made from scratch isn't at all difficult. Basicly we just used a coat with tails and his mom was kind enough to make the tails look like Jack's. His bow tie consited of a frame of wires and then all of the lines we did by hand. Needless to say by the next day I wanted to know nothing of making lines. His mask was bought and his gloves were simply skeleton gloves that he found and I painted to make them look like Jack's (black joints and all of that).
Then of course there is Zero who got most of the attention. His dad is a genious who pretty much did his nose so it would light up. we used parts of a dog costume and just worked from there. My boyfriend's parents are marvelous at craftsmaking and helped us inmensily in this project Zero being the most important part they helped us with.
So that sums it up. Hope you guys like it.

Oh I'm sorry it tookk me so long to respond I' hardly ever on deviantart. Anyways for Zero we based it around one of those invisible dog leashes that they sell. what we did is we used an old prop from one of the nightmare before Christmas toyws n added an LCD light to it. The cables and stuff went with the invisible dog leash and there was a small battery power on the leash oo. Hope that helped! <3

Awesome costumes! My friend and I went as Jack and Sally for Halloween. My teacher, who loves TNBC, said that he really liked my costume. But it's too bad he didn't get to see my Jack. -___- She didn't have the same teacher as me. I'm hoping to go to Disneyland someday, dressed up as both of them! Maybe next year, just for the Mickey's Halloween party, but not for Halloween itself. We mite go as Sora and Riku from Kingdom Hearts next year.

You're right. Actually she's more of a very pale bluish color, which was what I ended up looking like, however the light wasn't very good and my camera really sucks so it looks a lot darker than it actually is.

You were able to dress up at Disneyland? Was it for Halloween? Because I was told I couldn't dress up as Sally...only children under the age of seven are allowed to dress up at Disneyland because of legal reasons...you know, you don't want a pedophile going around in a costume that attracts children..
So. Jealous.

It was Disneyworld they allow adults to dress there. (With some weird results like guys dressing as princesses xD)
Just come to Florida for Mickey's not so Scary and you can dress up

wow! very cool. I dressed up as Sally for Disney day at my school (my friend, who was 12 at the time is an AMAZING seemstress, and made my dress for me as a christmas present)...I painted my whole body white (I couldn't find any blue!) with eyleliner stitches (what a coincidince! [sp?]). And one boy dressed up as Jack at my school...which would have been cool if he wasn't the guy who follows me around like a lost puppy and only bought the Jack costume because he overheard me saying that I was going to be sally for Disney day...and he has never even seen TNBC.
I also wore my costume when I went to see TNBC in 3D when it came out (funny enough, it came to theatres on my 14th B-day, so I went with my parents to the nearest theatre to see it...even though the nearest theatre was two hours away.) At the end of the movie, a little girl of two or three came out of the theatre, and saw me. Her eyes got really big and she came up and waved to me saying "Hi Sally!"..all the other little kids were afriad of me, though. One came up about half a foot away from me, stared at me, then ran away and hid behind her mom. Besides that (I hated scaring the poor little kids. ), it was the best Birthday I ever had.
I would love to go to Disney land in my costume, though. Did you two ride on the rides, or just walk around?
Absolutely wonderful costumes. Zero was a stroke of genious. I wish I could have been there to see it in person.
and I'm sorry for ranting!

Wow I actually know where your signature comes from. I love that book. No problem with ranting I feel special to get comments.
Heh when we went to the parks people were stopping us to take pictures with us. It was for Mickey's not so scary party and we rode some rides I have a picture of both of us driving the cars ride in Disney. It was funny we went to the Haunted Mansion and they were like "Hold on Sally! What's this what's this there's supposed do be a dumbuggy here!" We also saw a little boy dressed as Jack and my boyfriend kept telling me to go up to him and kiss his cheek and be all like "hello Jack!" but I was too nervous and thought the parents could have freaked out.
I wish I had kissed his cheek. But oh well! It's fun to go to Mickey's Not so Scary you should try it sometime . We even danced to the music from the Haunted Mansion it was fun.

tehee. Tis my favorite book. ^^ and I only had to wait 600 pages for them to finally kiss! XD
It sounds really fun. That would have been really cute if you had kissed the little boy...being that his mom brought him to Disney land in a Jack costume, I don't think his mom would have been all too uptight about it.....
oh well. sounds really fun. I wish I could have gone to Mickey's Not so Scary. maybe when I'm older, and people slam the door in my face so that I can't go trick-or-treating. XD

Yeah I don't know what it was about it I should have done seeing that I work in Disney it shouldn't had been too weird but oh well hopefully I'll have another chance. Now that I think about it it could had been adorable to get a picture of that kid and me heh. We went earlier than Halloween and we got 30 dollars worth of candy because we were going to make Disney at least give us that after buying the tickets! I think next year we might be the ghost host and the bride from Haunted Mansion but that all depends what happens by then . We're also planning of getting a whole bunch of people and making different couples of Tim Burton and trying to get some people to do all of the Nightmare BEfore Christmas cast. His mom wants to see the scientist funny enough ha ha...
Hey me and my boyfriend still went trick or treating and I'm 19 so it's never too old to go trick or treating! Mickey's Not so scary is a lot of fun we're going to go to the Pirate and Princess Christmas Party

wow! you work at Disney land!? That's so awesome! That's where I want to work when I grow up...hehe. I want to be a character there...I've wanted to work there since I went on Thanksgiving last year and realized that all those "Happiest place on earth" commercails weren't lying! XD
I almost got a bunch of people to make costumes of all the characters to come with me to sit on Santa's lap this year at the mall...it didn't end up working out, though =/.
are you going to dress up for the pirate and princess christmas party too?

Why my work for Disney is being close friends with the characters I hang out a lot with Tigger. To me it's one of my dreams to be working for Disney.
Yeah The pirate and princess party (is not christmas aparently I needed sleep when I wrote that last comment xD) is going to be on march I think. I'm dressing up as Ana Maria, I wanted my boyfriend to be Jack Sparrow (ha ha another Jack costume xD) but he says too many people will be dressed as him so we plan on doing jack Sparrow and Ana Maria for the third movie. Instead he's going to go as Captain Barbossa (undead monkey!!) and we have a friend that's going to be going as second movie Norrington.
We plan on having signs and mine is going to say "Why wasn't I on the second movie?", my boyfriend's going to say "Why was I shot on the first movie?" and our friend's is going to say "Why did I loose my life after the first movie?" If we get an Elizabeth her sign is going to say "Why did I ever choose Willl over Jack?" xD yeah me and my boyfriend are pretty much dorks.

haha. that's cool! great ideas
When the 3rd movie comes out, I'm going to go with my friend, Devin and see it. I just found out that she owns an eye patch (for medical reasons...I don't feel like explaining) and I already have a full pirate costume, so we were both thought it'd be fun to dress up for the 3rd one....hehe.
Totally post pictures when you guys dress up in your pirate costumes! I totally want to see them!
