Description
The night was now young. I had just left main land Kanto earlier this morning in search for a new home. The blackness of night didn't help with my vision, and using my powers only lit my way so far. Looking down at the ocean below, I tried looking for an island to rest at for the night. Most of the islands I could see seemed to be inhabited by humans. I almost gave up until a triangular island caught my attention. From what I could tell, there weren't any life forms on it, human or Pokemon. Sighing in relief, I soon touched down upon the barren landscape. After a few stretches and a long yawn (a normal "ritual" I perform before sleeping), I laid down on the grass and began drifting off into slumber. Not even an hour had passed before I was suddenly awoken by a loud crash against the earth. What landed before me was a meteorite! How strange... It glowed with a strange, purple aura and radiated some sort of energy. Before I knew what was going on, the meteorite began to take shape! It morphed into a tall, curvy figure with a glowing gem in its chest. After forming, the figure looked down, eyeing me curiously. We kept eye contact for what seemed like forever... Why isn't it saying something? Should I break the silence...? I suppose I should...

"Um... Hey there. So, what brings you to this part of the world?"
OK, that was a stupid icebreaker. But what else could I say? There's a creature I've never seen before standing before me! A strange, yet oddly beautiful creature... The creature had yet to respond to me, so I kept trying to get a word out of it.

"Hey, you gonna say something? Can you even understand me?"
It placed a tendril on its chin before finally speaking in a foreign language that I've never heard, and doubt that it could be from this planet.

"I should have known you wouldn't be one of those aliens that can automatically speak English... Well, can you at least answer my second question? Nod your head if you can understand what I'm saying, OK?"
With that, it nodded its head. Thank Arceus it can understand what I'm saying... I wonder if I can learn more about it?

"Alright, now answer me this... Who are you?"
It paused again then looked at the ground. One of its tendril arms combined together to form a fingered hand. With it, it started writing on the ground. I watched as it wrote down what looked to be an 'A' before other letters followed. Reading it out, I then read aloud what it spelled.

"A...L...A...T...R...A...C...E... Alatrace? Is that your name?"
The stranger nodded happily. At least I could get a name from it... I soon felt a finger poke against my chest, then looked up to see the stranger staring into my eyes again.

"What is it? Why are you poking me? ...are you wanting to know MY name?"
The creature nodded. A long sigh escaped my lips before my eyes met the creature's once again.

"I don't really have a name, but you can call me Myukai, I guess-"

"Myu...kai..."
Those were the first words comprehensible words I've heard from it all night.

"Myu...kai...~"
It said my name again, but this time in a rather cheery voice. From what I could tell from the voice, Alatrace was female. Hearing her speak with such cheer was rather...cute. But then more questions filled my mind...

"Do you have a home, Alatrace?"
Her giggling stopped as suddenly as it started. Her head titled downwards sadly, shaking it.

"Home...gone..."

"Gone...? What happened to it?"

"Don't...know..."
A few tears started streaming down her cheeks. I guess she was all alone in the world- er...galaxy. Perhaps I should try to keep her company?

"Hey, don't go crying your eyes out now... You have me to keep you company."
I tried my best at a smile, and it seemed to have worked. She wiped the tears from her eyes and held me close. I've never felt so warm before... Then again, I've never received a hug in my entire life. The feeling was so magical that, within a small amount of time, I felt my eyes beginning to close. Alatrace seemed to be fine with it, from what I could tell, and began to fall asleep herself. I suppose I really can find happiness in this world.
