This part was so sad but sweet at the same time in Okamiden. Especially when after Isshaku asks who Chibi was and Shiranui say "He's my grandson." It was so sweet! I'm actually on my second playthrough now and totally looking forward to this scene again.Shiranui, Chibiterasu, and Isshaku belong to Capcom

One of, if not the, saddest scenes in the franchise, met at the top with the scene where he sacrificed himself to save the others from Akuro's attack and Kurows sacrifice to kill Akuro in the end of Okamiden.

Waaaaah! Β That was really sad. Β Not to see Shiranui die once, but twice, in the course of two games! Β Amaterasu was Shiranui's reincarnation, so she is his "daughter" through spirit, so the grandson title makes sense.

The really sad thing was, I played Okamiden before Okami. And in the one scene with Shiranui and Chibi I thought Shiranui WAS Chibi's granddad. But then I played Okami and realized Shiranui WAS AMMY. And I started to cry cuz it was that type of moment where someone sees their mom or dad after so long and just

-raises hand slowly- Okamiden fucked it up...Shiranui is not Chibi's grandfather. Shiranui is not Ammy's parent or anything. Amaterasu IS Shiranui and Shiranui IS Amaterasu, it's just that Shiranui (just a name given to Ammy by the Kamiki folks) is Ammy at full power. Ammy lost her powers when she died in the fight with Orochi (After saving her future, weaker self and Oki from the twin owls) and was reborn at the beginning of Okami when she was called back from the grave by Sakuya. Ammy and Shiranui are the same Goddess/wolf, so Okamiden really fucked this part up. It WAS sad, tho.

Well I may have to agree with you there but the designers probably wanted a 'family' sort of thing going on but I do understand that Shiranui IS Amaterasu! But it's a brilliant game nonetheless!

Well I was going to get it until yes UNTIL my little bro went crash *DS drops* the screen turns white and I was like OMG WTF NOOOOO then i need a new one...then I was thinking about buying black verison....but then OMG I can't decide anymore people are like OMG Okamiden is amazing and then some people are like WTF is this game Okami is so much better...so now I can't decide...

Just saw this scene for the first time and I nearly cried, it was so beautiful >w< I did cry when Shira died though D: Chibi looked so sad!
