My first attempt at a mostly watercolored painting. It's been a long time since I've done one and I need some serious practice at it. But I use to love doing water color scenery. Lighthouses are so over done with watercolor but it was a good subject for a test run. I used the colored pencil when I realized that my cliff side didn't come out the way I wanted it and I tried to save it. And figured I'd enhance the water. I think I made it look worse, but at least I gave it a shot. I look at it more and realize I should have used the colored pencil for the birds when they came out a little too large in comparison to the lighthouse. But I can argue that the birds are flying from the foreground TO the lighthouse. I don't have my micro paint brushes with me so I make do with what I got.
I'm also doing this because I am working on my clouds for future art pieces with water color. And damn. I LOVE doing water color clouds!!!
I though this deserves to be displayed, even with all it's mistakes.
