All they do is listen to the bitching of a few (who would sue the most), and ignore the many, who like the character. I have a good feeling that ALL this shit could be attributed to the fucking "critics" (worthless bureaucratic trolls behind wide desks), who've already been pissy about this show. Haters have little to do with this, as they hate the whole show in general, so that leaves us with the CENSOR guys - many of which are probably members of the Copyright Mafia as well!
I don't think they're AWARE OF (as they definitely wouldn't CONSIDER) the fact that censoring a character because of disabilities IS WORSE than showing one in a comedic way - it's like they're TRYING TO DENY THE EXISTENCE OF HANDICAPPED PEOPLE!!!
Honestly, Derpy's character was NOWHERE CLOSE to being "wrong" or "insulting". Her eyes could be accounted to an accident, MANY people are BORN klutzes, and honestly, IS IT SO WRONG FOR A FEMALE CHARACTER TO HAVE A BASS VOICE?!
If these people wouldn't have their heads SIX BLOODY FEET up their own ass, they would of just passed this on for the majority of the fans.
And by blocking her, THEY ACTUALLY STATE that she's MENTALLY HANDICAPPED!
Even if she was, I think it's not WRONG from a MODERN kids show to show that, indeed, "slow" or "weird-eyed" people exist, but we should accept them as a part of our society. I mean, C'MON! They're covering away truth from the children! HOW would they know HOW to react when they are with handicapped, if they haven't even SEEN one?! Derpy is a nice, kind, and in her own quirky ways, cute character, who's most eager to help, even if she messes up a few times - can you SHOW me ANY better way to represent those with special needs in this show? And, as I said, her eyes' position could be a result of an accident, she could be simply just a klutz, AND WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HAVING A DEEP VOICE?
And according to WHAT dictionary does "derpy" equal to "retarded"?! WHICH ONE OF THEIR ANUSES DID THEY PULLED THIS ONE OUT?!
Also, they didn't objected her when she was a background character. OH, SO HANDICAPPED PEOPLE HAVE THE "PRIVILEGE" TO EXIST AS LONG AS THEY'RE AT THE BACK?! AND you DARE to call HER insulting?!
Even if her name ISN'T Derpy (note that I don't have anything against "Ditzy Doo", though it is just as insulting as everything else from their part that I named, but at least it FITS the show), it could be a nickname - unflattering, maybe, but they could use it as a lesson.
Example:
- "Are you guys SURE we should ask her? She's a bit on the clumsy side."
- "We know, but still, she's always so eager to help. It would be rude to leave her out!"
- "But guys, you know how... How... RECKLESS she could be... I'm still not sure if we should ask for help from Derpy, out of all ponies..."
- "RAINBOW DASH!"
- "What?"
- "HOW can you be so INSENSITIVE?!"
- "What do you mean?!"
- "You can't call her 'Derpy'! That's just... Just... RUDE!"
- "Wha-WHY?! It doesn't even MEAN anything."
- "Yeah, sure."
- "Aw c'mon! Twilight, show me a dictionary that has the word "Derpy" in it!"
- "Errr..."
- "There. And anyways, I had called her Derpy when she was around. SHE DOESN'T MIND! "It's just a nickname!" That's what she said!"
- "But still, you shouldn't call her that. SOME ponies could find it very insulting. You could get into trouble!"
- "Oh, I can probably guess WHO finds it insulting! Those picky tie-necks behind their wide tables, sitting in plush chairs, DOING NOTHING AT ALL but criticizing everything!"
- "Look, RD, we don't like it as much as you do, but there ain' a thing we could do!"
- "I simply don't get it! WHY would the Princesses ALLOW such ponies to dwell, while the rest of the world works hard!"
- "Ah don' know, Pinkie. But ah have a feelin' it ain' the princesses in charge o' this."
- "You could say that again."
- "Regardless, these are rules. You shouldn't break them!"
- "Yeah yeah... But I still don't see how 'DITZY Doo' isn't insulting!"
- "RAIBOW!"
- "WHAT?!"

Good to hear that. Do yourself a favor, sum it up in your words, and paste it over other 'Save Derpy' related submissions. The more people hear of this plan, the better. It might even reach Hasbro.
