Description
I tired to imagine how could Spirit, stallion of the Cimarron, when he was just a young foal xDDoesn`t look like a wild horse and there are some anatomy defects, but I`m a bit proud of this.
I used pastels and this is probably the first picture, which I`ve done with them.

What kind of pastells did you use? Pencils?
I have never worked with them by now, but I'd like to. But I don't know which colors to buy, there are so many different types... And I think it would be hard work to draw with such a chalk stick, but I heard the pencils weren't that good... Can you help me out?

No, not pencils (but I`d like to try them 
It`s not so hard to work with them as you think.. I always buy Russian acrylic and oils so I bought Russian pastels too. Of course, French or Czech pastels are also very good, but I don`t recommend to buy Chinese

I love how detailed this is.
The only thing I would say to change would be to make the neck a little thicker, but, hey.

Gorgeous pastel work! I find them hard to work with but you did great! I'm not an expert at horses but I like the anatomy work you did - glad you used Spirit as inspiration, I love that guy!

You have very nice definition here for working in pastels. I adore pastels but I have to use pencils or Conté to sharpen them. Lovely shine to the hair and eyes, it's very pretty.
