On the surface, Natsume seems like a very well behaved boy. He's polite, kind, always having a charming smile on his face. Despite being popular in his past schools, the boy would make effort to be easily approachable for his peers and Juniors.
He'd always lend a hand to anyone in need of help. Because that's what people expected of him. The Prince of his school.

Deep down Natsume's actually very socially awkward, reclusive and couldn't feel more like an outsider than when he was around his peers. He's always been hiding his actual emotions and how he thinks because he was keeping up an image created by his surroundings. He's a fake extrovert and a people pleaser.

Hiding behind a nice smile was everything he'd ever wanna express. But he can't. Because that's not what people see in Natsume. Anger, Sadness, Frustration, actual Happiness. None of that fits into the build up princey image everyone has of him.

Whenever he meets someone new, Natsume tends to be prejudiced of them already. Expecting the person to be like anyone else, so he'll put on his all too well known mask just to get it over with quick.

There were moments when the boy tested his limits and messed up on purpose to get a reaction out of people. Playing dumb to see if he gets away with it and so far he has never suffered consequences. All he wants is to be treated like everyone else and be able to express himself normally.

Natsume is the definition of a model Student. Good grades, athletic, a part of the Student Council to help and guide his fellow Students. Admired and loved by his peers and teachers. What more could you want as a popular kid at school? Such life was tiring for Natsume. Especially because it was a rather shallow one on top of being exhausting. Because all they could see is what a pretty face he has.

People have always praised and complimented the boy for how pretty he is since young years. Is that all he has? Studying, staying fit, making an effort to show he can master skills. It all didn't matter because it always gets connected with his looks.

Natsume eventually adapted to this kind of life. He put on a mask to please the people around him. Just smile and be kind. This is what they want to see. The prince of their school should be well mannered, charming and a jewel to be kept safe. This kind of life took all the motivation away from him to be his own person. While it came with a lot of benefits he also started to get jealous eyes on him. "Only because he's got a pretty face" - it's not like he chose for everything to turn out like this. He just wanted to be a normal student like everyone else. Earn praise and approval by how much effort he put into his work. And not get an easy pass. He hated that but how could he ever voice up about that. People will just stamp it off as him being humble.

The only people treating him normally are his parents. He loves them a lot and that's why he'd never say anything bad about his looks. They brought him into this world. Unfortunately they are busy adults and are rarely at home. Which was fine with Natsume. He understood and appreciates any second they can spend with him.

He didn't dislike his looks. He dislikes the way people look and treat him because of it. Putting him on a pedalstal. He thought his entire life is gonna stay this shallow. It all suddenly changed in one evening. All he did was follow his student council duties. But this one day was the first time Natsume thought about just ripping off his face. He wished he didn't look like how he does. It happened because of how he looks. He didn't ask for this! Why him! It was the first time in long that his parents were home and they could eat dinner together. It was the first time in forever when Natsume came home. Crying and breaking down in his parents' arms.

A day later his homeroom teacher got arrested. And Natsume was pulled out of his school.

He didn't get hurt. He was able stop it before it escalated but it left him severely scarred.
Natsume asked to stay home. He didn't know for how long. All he knew is that he was scared to go outside now. His parents supported his decision and made sure to take regularly days off now to be there for their son.

A year has passed since the incident and Natsume hasn't been doing much than being partially homeschooled by a family friend to not slack off with his academics. He has slowly started to leave his home again but only to go to the nearest konbini and back. Wearing a facemask and a hoodie to hide his face. So many reasons why he wants to hide. The boy definetly lost touch with his surroundings because of that. What day is it? What time is it? It didn't matter anymore while he was at home.

He envied the students he sees whenever he goes to the konbini. How nice it must be to lead a normal school life. Having friends you can spend time with...But Natsume was sure he would never wanna step into a "normal" school ever again. A normal school? What if it wasn't a normal school. Would he be able to attend that one without worries. He was tired of hiding and rotting away while witnessing the world around him move on.

That night Natsume showed his parents a Flyer he picked up at the konbini. "Dawning into Stardom - Sunrise Academy". An established Talent highschool to help children become part of the entertainment industry. His parents looked at him concerned. Wouldn't this put more attention on Natsume if he joined such school?

"This...this might be my only chance to have a normal school life..." he muttered. A school in which he wouldn't stick out. His face wouldn't be of anyone's interest because skills are what's being judged. After a long talk and assuring that the boy won't regret his decision, his parents agreed to let him enroll into SRA. With the dorm system the school provides, Natsume wouldn't have to stay at home alone all day anymore aswell. He can come back home on weekends when his parents are done with work. He could finally make friends... He won't let his trauma rob him his entire life anymore.
