What can I say, the idea kept stalking me for at least few months...

Elves - the pre-tolkienic one is obviously an Irish Sidhe. Germanic liosalfar are scarcely described so I had little chance of giving them justice. The post-tolkienic elf is of course the result of hippies being in certain time the main enthusiasts of J.R.R. Tolkien's work and their a priori assumption that Wood Elves are in fact similarly pacifist, filobuddist eco-freaks as themselves.
And YES, they are all based on Grisznak's portrait [link] .

Orcs - well, the race was Tolkien's invention, but before the name "orcus" meant an ancient roman god of the Underworld and an dangerous sea creature, probably the orca. And yes, it was pictured with big pointy tusks.

Dwarves - you can't improve what is faultless.

Hobbit - I think Belkar rocks although I'm not sure Tolkien would agree...
