Good stories teach you things about others, and yourself. And you are willing to listen because the story was good, and the characters were good (in all senses) so you get something out of it besides entertainment.

No, I don't dislike the pairing for being a lesbian pairing. I just hate hero x villain shippings, even if the villain is redeemed.
To me, regardless of sexuality, those type of shippings carry unfortunate implications of potential Stockholm Syndrome and manipulation.
