She submitted her tutorial which is actually finished since more than half a year? (I just had to put everything together... but I'm sooo lazy XD)

I DID IT!
And it was so much work! XD This thing here almost killed me. But I hope it can help you! >3<
I tried my best to explain everything x.x If you have got any questions feel free to ask.

OK I'M DONE XD

Thanks to and who helped me correcting mistakes XD
If you see any of them: I don't care XD (it was so much work!!!)

MEDIA USED: Faber Castel Polychromo Color Pencils
Character: Michiru Kaioh (c) Naoko Takeuchi
Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon

F.A.Q.

Hope you like it

Mistakes I saw too late:
I wrote "grey" wrong... WTH. Three times! WHY?
Somewhere I wrote techniques wrong.

EDIT: OK thank you, some of you told me that both spellings gray and grey are right. XD THANKS <3

Okay... That's amazing. 0_0 I was planning on doing a colored pencil art project, but wasn't entirely sure how to do it... Now I do... ... Still flipping amazing. If I didn't see the process, I wouldn't believe you did that wil colored pencil, lol. Very nice.... Very nice indeed.

Finally! You did it! Waited so long for a tutorial of yours to show up :3
Awesome! I just love the way you color your pictures!
What pen do you exactly use for the white highllights? The one I have won't work with my Polychromos
Anyway, it's just a great tutorial and its easy to keep up!

Jaaa!
DankeschΓΆn!

does a white out pen work as white ink?

YueYuki In reply to Jayyefire [2012-04-07 21:47:27 +0000 UTC]

Good question :/ I think yes, but the peak isn't as fine. It could be difficult for strands, but enough for dots :3

Pretty much, but it doesn't run as smooth as actual white ink. I tried doing that(I didn't know where my white ink was, but I was too lazy to find it), but it ruined the artwork. -.-

Beautiful tutorial. It's nice to know I've been doing it right! The way you blend colors is amazing, I must try to do that more!
(also I love that you use faber castells, they're my favorite too!)

Thanks! That was really helpful! Usually I don't colour my pictures in because it tends to look like a 5 year old has done it. Then I get upset about ruining the picture, I get depressed, rip it up...etc...
But your shading techniques you've shown here might be a solution to my colouring problems
I'll give your technique a try sometime! And thank you again

I have some questions ^^ (thx for the tutorial by the fay ^^),
- the copic paper u used is like another layer right??
- did u do the line art twice??
- did u color on both layers?
-why?? ^^ what effect does that add?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YueYuki In reply to Sofychu [2012-04-09 17:16:16 +0000 UTC]

I hope I understood your question >.<
I colored this picture only once. First I traced the sketch and afterwards I ditched it (I didn't color the sketch if you think so)
This is only one paper that has been colored, I just used the word "layer" to illustrate that I draw over the shadows to add more effect. Oh man I really hope you understand what I mean Hope so and sorry if not >.<

Most Americans spell it with "a" while Britain and many of its commonwealths use "e". I could be wrong, but that's just what I was taught.

You know, this can maybe help me a bit more with my traditional pieces.

One question. Do you leave some of the areas on the picture with a soft value of white? I don't know it seems like you did that so I'm just wondering.
