Wait... what?She finally did it?
She submitted her tutorial which is actually finished since more than half a year? (I just had to put everything together... but I'm sooo lazy XD)
I DID IT!
And it was so much work! XD This thing here almost killed me. But I hope it can help you! >3<
I tried my best to explain everything x.x If you have got any questions feel free to ask.
OK I'M DONE XD
Thanks to and who helped me correcting mistakes XD
If you see any of them: I don't care XD (it was so much work!!!)
MEDIA USED: Faber Castel Polychromo Color Pencils
Character: Michiru Kaioh (c) Naoko Takeuchi
Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon
Hope you like it
Mistakes I saw too late:
I wrote "grey" wrong... WTH. Three times! WHY?
Somewhere I wrote techniques wrong.
EDIT: OK thank you, some of you told me that both spellings gray and grey are right. XD THANKS <3

This might be a stupid question, but.. why do you use marker paper for coloured pencils?
There are many types of paper that go better with coloured pencils because of the rough quality. I think marker paper is too smooth (and expensive) to use with coloured pencils.
If you have trouble seeing through other kinds of paper (when you transfer the lineart), I can recommend a light box to use underneath

I use Copic Marker paper because to me it's the easiest way to draw lines without something like a light box (which is too expensive for me). I did never say everybody has to use this, it's just what I use
And the paper has got a fine structure and I like it x3 Thanks for the tip anyway ^^

A light box is actually quite easy making yourself. My dad made me one. It works fine
You can buy a type of paper with the same silky smooth surface as Copic paper. It's rather thick though so you wouldn't be able to look through it

This is very helpful, it's interesting to look at the process artists use to color.
I have a few questions, but most of them are just little unimportant questions, so I'm just going to ask what's been nagging at me.
Do you only use the marker paper because it's easy to see through, or do you also use it because of how the color pencils work on top of it? I have a book of marker paper but it's not copic
I've actually never tried using colored pencils on it (mostly because I've been trying to get better with what markers I have before reintroducing pencils into my work)

YueYuki In reply to Korosu-Sienne [2012-04-08 08:47:14 +0000 UTC]
As you can see color pencils work on this paper, I wouldn't use it either way XD To me, I found the perfect paper and I wanted to share this. Nobody has to use it if they don't want to x3
You can use any marker paper I guess, I got used to Copic Marker paper (there was another artist who used Copic paper for her color pencil colorations ^^ ~Kyoko-Taide She's kinda inactive now, but when I started using this paper, she was one of my inspirations :3)
Hope I could answer your questions! x3 Thanks a lot for the comment, I'm glad it helps!

YueYuki In reply to KinomoriRoxanne [2012-04-09 17:23:36 +0000 UTC]
Oh er... I don't know @.@.... Probably your scanner isn't that good? Then you could try to edit the colors with photoshop afterwards. I hope I understood what you mean.
Thanks for the comment!

This sounds really silly, but where I always got snagged up is the beginning where I would use the first drawing to colour in with the pencil. That resulted in some dark and often messy areas becasue of the buildup of graphite I had from the pencil lead. So I was wondering if I had to retrace my sketch.
Thank you for showing a very quick and easy way to do that. And the colouring part was also very helpful. I can now try to keep my layers neater.
Thank you so much.

You don't need to buy Copic paper, it was just a tip (since I use it! x3) you can try it on any paper you like.
Thanks a lot <3

Yeah, but my sketchbook is stupid (I hate the paper they have in sketchbooks! It's too rough). Does it come in loose papers, or in a pad?
Besides, I'm always looking for an excuse to go art supply shopping!
