Thanks! As for tips, try studying patterns like [link] See how the head pieces are shaped? That'll make the head round and cute. Then keep trying over and over, making alterations to get what you want.
For the body shape, yours is more of a simple cute shape, whereas mine has more definition. Stump legs -> stump shape in the pattern and curved legs -> curved shape in the pattern.

Well, I did use as pattern ( 's) on my Derpy plushie. Her head definitely turned out better... but I'm having a problem with my iPad and I can't post her.
