Can't hurt. Obviously, you don't need to draw them nearly as big as I (or any of the people I force to draw for money) do - I'm sure there's plenty of art guides and references out there that'll help you out for any body type.

The hardest part of drawing or doing anything is starting, getting past that hurdle that is fear of failure.
Just start. Grind and analyze. Try out multiple methods. Even if you want to do anime style I still suggest learning realism.
But start. Don't wait. Just start, accept that it's a long road to getting 'good' and enjoy the JOURNEY not the end goal.
