Sorry but....It doesn't end well for the cat. But its okay. It's for the greater good. Please don't judge them like you would judge people. One of the biggest reasons spider people are alienated/rejected by society. Are because Spider Humanoids have not been able to completely shake off the instincts of their ancestors. They are not as domesticated or civilized. Although they are clearly more advanced and have human-like attributes. They still heavily rely on their arachnid instincts. I did a lot of research on arthropods. A cruel rule where its every creature for itself. And although these guys feel pain and complex emotions ( Arachnids do not feel pain like we do. Neither do insects. ). Because of their ancestors; they are not as strong. And they come off as rather cold and selfish. Their one goal is survival. And will do anything to live another day. Some are more restrained than others. But unlike other mythical creatures in Terigold. They can become full feral and dangerous if they have not eaten enough. To spider humanoids. A source of food and the promise of tomorrow means more than most material objects. These two, in particular, are on the more civilized side. But you do not want to see them hungry. They lose whatever human-like traits they have. And will prey on anything they can get their hands on. Regardless, this potion is very important to the both of them. And will make life and living a bit easier. So to sacrifice a cat for their well being is well justified. Thing is. The potion making wouldnt kill the cat. It only needs to soak in there. But the cat is a free meal. And Spiders are opportunistic. They will never turn down an easy meal. Even the humanoid ones.

These two have an interesting relationship. They work for institutions that are pinned against each other. But they still maintain a good relationship. And will sometimes meet in secret. The two have a mutual relationship. And will never attack the other for their boss. They just need to stay out of each other's way.
