OK, I'm boerd so I'll try to explain. Hopefully it's an OK explanation. I'll try not to get too much away though. Sry about the spelling-
Brittania, imperialists, are taking over the world. They took over Japan, and renamed it Area 11. Lelouch is a son of the Britanian emperor(he has allot of children though). I think the emperor sent for Lelouch's mother to be killed(at the age that you see him in the picture). His sister was in his mother's arms at the time she was shot, and blinded by shock. Lelouch got banished and was sent to Japan "area 11", to become a school boy at a boarding school there...
Lelouch is part of the student councle in school. In the 1st episode he had a near death experience but was given powers "geass"-the power to completely control anyone once through eye contact- by a mysterious girl "C2". This has given him the chance to finally start his goal of obliterating Britania...
He adopted the name "Zero", and started masquerading against Britania, with "The Dark Knights"- a small terrorist group he started controlling...
He killed his brother Clovis, and is now after his sister Cornelia...
He wants to avenge his mother and create a world where is sister can be safe and happy.
