Temperament: This little man is far too smart for his own good. He learns incredibly fast and shows great interest in anything you point him at. He has excellent control of his body for such a bulky and large foal. He is a bit pushy and mouthy so will need work on personal space. Watch your fingers and clothes as he is often found chewing on fences, trees, hair and stray clothes. That said he is very curious and friendly and is easy to catch and work with. He should develop into an excellent all rounder and riding horse. As he matures, Luei is showing more of the desired boldness of the breed, being typically unflappable; if not a little excitable at times.

Conformation: Araluen is a strong colt with an overall impression of balance and proportion. His neck is set high upon strong, sloped shoulders, is well-muscled and leads to a smooth top-line and broad back. His chest is deep and ribs well-sprung. His legs are straight, very well boned with short canons and no feather. His hindquarters are substantial and powerful, bordering a little heavier than the breed ideal. His head is both bold and attractive, with a straight profile and large, expressive eyes. His ears are small to average in size and delicate in shape. His coat is fine and silky during the warmer months, dense and badger-like during the cold seasons. His mane and tail are thick and slightly waved.
