“Better be, you pillock,” I countered. “Thinking I would actually care about some badly done face paints,” Val laughed in surprise, a smirk on his face.

“Are you mocking my ability to face paint?” he questioned, sounding falsely insulted. I felt one of his hands twirl a small clump of my hair. “Coming from the girl who takes at least an hour to tame her crest?”

“Ohh, that was a low blow, Autillin,” I scolded gently, securing my arms around his neck to stop myself falling back. I almost felt his grin on my lips.

“I can go lower,” he retorted, voice low as his hand released my hair to find the base of my neck. My breath caught in my throat.

Starquake: Homecoming Chapter 22

Some Homecoming art, finally! A reasonably quick one (For me at least, still took about 8 or so hours!) This is going to the header for chapter 22, for a near miss regarding these two The above text is an extract from the chapter, said from Dell's POV. Until it goes to crap, of course!

I also did this to help me figure out the basic idea to Val's injuries. Scarring around the eyes, pocked skin and melted marks. Also because this is one of my favouite moments in Homecoming so far.

Overall, I'm a bit eh with the lighting and the detail, but this was meant to be a reasonably quick piece. Still quite happy with it ^.^ Apart from Dell's face -_- dammit, I need more human practice!
