Description
This is one of 3 images I'll be uploading until I get back. These are Ray's birthday presents XDName: Misora
Owner: =ray72285
Species: Dragon
Eye colour: Dark Blue
Wool used: Double Knitted - lilac, blue, white, cream. 3-ply white, 4-ply blue
Stitches: Plain, Feather and Fan (wings)
This is Misora...for those who have read my knitting tutorials, you may remember I went (coughmisoracough) on maaaany occasions...because Misora was a bit tricky to do >.> <.< understatement of the year ^.^'
Her neck and tail annoyed me the most, I wanted to make the white and the blue one single piece like the body...but nothing works for me in plain and purl so I gave up and made them seperately XD
The next hurdle was the wings. How the (beep) do you do feathered wings?! ...Feather and fan seemed to be the best answer! (get it? feathers, feather and fan....ah forget it XD ) Feather and Fan is a lace stitch which makes nice little waves, I use it for all her wings but the 3 little primary feathers XD These were done on teeny tiny needles (which I may add teeny tiny HURT TT.TT ) with thinner wool (3- and 4-ply)
Alas, I started this waaaay back when Ray was going through a mysterious illness. I don't think we ever found out what it was...strange. but yes, Misora had been originally a 'Get Well' present...but the neck and tail annoyed me so much it took me longer than needed...and she got better before I had even stitched up her body XD so here's your birthday present!

You have no idea how much I literally squealed like a little fan girl when I opened the package up. I love her to bits! She makes for a nice hat too! For now, she resides on my computer monitor and watches my every move.
You did such a beautiful job with her. I love the wings! Both my mother and I oogled at the stitching.
Loves, loves, loves, loves!

lol XD maybe I should've put moving eyes on her...then she'd REALLY be watching your every move XD
The stitching on the wings was a bit annoying...You really have to keep track of feather than fan otherwise you're going to get confused X.x
me glad, me glad, me glad, me glad XD (snuggle huggle)

She looks so pretty, I love that messy mane she's got XD Think she could've done with a longer tail, but I don't know how that'd work out for the overall structure of the piece :/

messy mane >w> twas interesting to say the least...
I think the tail looks shorter because there is no mane running from neck to tail like Alpha or Oceanic, that and the tailpuff itself takes about 2-3 rows of knitting in itself ^.^' don't worry about structure, knitting is very durable...it's just making everything look in proportion that is the trick bit >o<

^^U Draw it out first then measure the proportions?

where's the annoyance in that? XD took me 3 failed knitted toys before I found a little formula that worked (Alpha was the first successful one ^.^' I had 3 failed lapis's before it though) but I suppose I can chop and change just to see (for longer tailed characters) how it looks with a longer tail
