I also noticed, painting with real paint helped me understand how colour works, a little bit better : D Woop!
So yar, this be my favorite Turtle. Finally got round to colouring in the pencil sketch I did. I did this in a couple of hours in Photoshop7 : D

OH man nostalgia <3 Raphael is SUPERIOR to Casey.
Critique eh? Well the hat needs to be a bit wider, at the moment it's too small to properly fit on his head, but the angle makes it work.
Also the shoulder lines of the coat need to be higher up on his neck and the right one should be evened out with the left. Right now it looks like he's got his neck stretched out majorly. There's a shell on his back so the coat should drape down from about his jawline at least.
Can't critique anything on the painting, it looks freakin awesome! Plus I'm in no position to give coloring tips seeing as I hardly color anything myself XD

awesome only complain I have is that his neck is a little long, but looking at my turtle tank and my little turtle, I realize turtles have longer necks than they gave the TMNTs lol. I especially like your coloring on this one, and his eye looks great!

like I said before, the textures are something else, they really give such elements like the turtle's skin a lot of realism. The shading is well placed as well, in here, though there could be a little more contrast between the highlights and shadows, and I think Raph's neck is a tad bit long, but that may just be me; that aside, you did a wonderful job, Kim, keep it up!

What I love about this is that you've actually got a feeling of dirt, of roughness, going on, it compliments the pencil art so well. Also, VERY nice work with the atmospheric lighting!
Since it says "Critique Encouraged", the only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe you might want to darken the neck area a little? It might help the collar to "pop out" more dramatically.
Man, next year is going to be so awesome in Game Dev.
