I'm a wuss and a doormat in real life. My friends joke that my name spells MAT and that's what I am. Eternal big sister, always having to help everyone out.
I'm almost always the good guy/gal in games too.
My poor Shepard actually got worse during ME. The principled, idealistic gal who saved the Council and the Rachni Queen went off the rails in ME2 due to her enforced split with Liara. By ME3, she couldn't have cared less about 'saving the world'. She'd basically become Jack; 'everybody who ever crossed me, pays'. The game was one long hit-list for me. It was quite telling that the character I most identified with was Javik.

Well I had it the same with Shepard... but I was evil, but no chaotic evil (Like upgrading the genophage or destroying the geth simply because the Quarians screwed up)
Simply... I had to reach victory by any means necessary but still have some moral priorities...

Weirdly, I was pretty much pure Paragon... but I destroyed the geth and didn't cure the genophage. It was odd, that for all my good deeds, it tended to be the Renegade stuff that defined poor Vonda.
I liked that ME allowed you to be a badass and a Paragon - Zaeed's loyalty mission, for instance. If you play it Renegade, you're just going along with him. Playing Paragon, you smash his face in, hold him at gunpoint and demand that he starts playing nice or you'll shoot him. AND he's so impressed that he does just that.
And Lair of the Shadow Broker, where a Paragon Shepard proudly proclaims: "I unleashed the rachni on the galaxy! I sacrificed thousands of human lives to save the Council!" It gives me chills every time I hear that. Even though it's just a bluff.
