Description
For this one, I decided to show a 'What if'. Basically, Melothios has two versions - one in 'Upon a Star' and one in 'The Worldmenders' Saga'. In both versions, Melothios is a force of darkness, spawned by hatred. In 'Upon a Star', it is treated as one of the split personalities that appear after "Melody" is brought to a state of total despair thanks to Merit's manipulations.

This version - from 'The Worldmenders' Saga' - appears as a spirit controlling Mother Claire until she is 'exorcised', with the spirit finding a new home inside Alex. It awakens after seeing Demyan being broken down physically and mentally during the trial at the Anarch's woods. Normally, it would be clad in a chitin-like armor, its face hidden by a full mask, with several more horns, plates shaped like armor, and a scorpion's tail - things referring to how much Alex is afraid of the Defiant, the Outcriers, and the near-death experience that was only halted by Resham's quick actions.

Due to Merka's interference, this version of Melothios is not as driven to destroy, and acts as a defense mechanism for Alex whenever he is forced to fight. Personality-wise, he tries to not show any emotion or attachment, but is easily startled by Alex's moments of care for him, as well as being complimented for his otherwise destructive actions.

Side-note: the pendant around his neck actually belonged to Karyana - a silver medallion with emeralds etched in it.
