Description Somewhere between a baby Ent and a Mandrake, Rootlings are mischievous little creatures born from the twisted knots of roots under ancient trees and plants. Their variety is near endless, yet you could be surrounded by them and never know. They tend to move only when they think they are unobserved, and play tricks on investigative animals. They are simple and have no capacity to understand the notion of good or evil but are seen by the superstitious as benevolent spirits of the woods.


Probably split these little fellas up into individual studies when it comes to colouring.

I think my favorite thing about these guys is the expressions the top two look slightly angery and look like they might appear in a hauted wood in a fairy tale, where as the bottom one is like "hey guys look what the bird did"! he looks so damn happy!

I really like the thorny branch-hair of the one on the right and the one with the bird and nest is so cute! hahaa.
You always create such intricate little details that really make your work so pleasing to look at. :>
