The Red Mage, The Moogle and The Chocobo

I haven't played any Final Fantasy in a good long time; FFXIII is pretty much universally loathed and FFXIV is a complete disaster, for example. In fact, if I'm honest, the last Final Fantasy I actually properly played was FFVIII, and I pretty much hated everything about it except the character designs.

However, playing vicariously through my friend EmiliAlys' ([link] ) recent replay of FFIX, and discussing the possibility of a tabletop Final Fantasy Role Play Game; we got to thinking about proper old school Final Fantasy class archetypes, and 'slutty Red Mages' came up quite often. Red Mages are awesome. They might not be the best at anything magic wise, but they're easily the best at style. Who else but a Red Mage could get away with wielding a sabre in a pimp hat, corset, thgh high boots and a pair of knickers? Mmm. Maybe Emma Frost. But that's a whole 'nother universe.
