Heh- that never occured to me. Incidently, I also love Treasure Planet, and consider it a modern Disney Classic. I blame poor marketing for its lack of real commercial success.

yeah, I loved it, too ^-^ but there are many people that think of it as a cheesy picturisation of the book... I read some reviews on amazon, they don't get it at all, the whole spacey thingy^^"
well, I suddenly saw that ending scene, where everything blows up and stuff... maybe because of the cracked open bottom of the cauldron, that looks a little like the "map"^^

The spacey thing is incredibly original. The show is so bursting at the seams with inspired creativity that I don't see how anyone can NOT see the love that went into it.
Disney can just Disney-fy stories like what they usually do- Aladdin, Mulan, Hercules, etc. But with Treasure Planet, they really made it their own. Not that those other flicks I listed were bad, it's just that Treasure Planet's very special in my eyes
