I also thought of video games briefly (most likely because the arrows remind me of Dance Dance Revolution), but then I thought it looked somewhat like a frame that might've been taken from an animation meant to show off some sort of new software in the vein of web browser plugins (eg. shockwave, flash, etc).
Moving on the the piece itself, I think you've already taken the best words to describe it: clean and simple. Additionally, I think the arrows, small blocks, and text keep the piece from moving into the minimalistic category (a good thing for this case in my opinion). Nice work

One thing I forgot to mention is that it would make a very fitting desktop wallpaper; the windows, interface/display look to it, and technological appearance would make it fit quite nicely.
