There's a lot of characters I really like, but there's so many to choose from. Here's a list of some of my favorites and why.

1. Because he's interesting: Mario (Nintendo): Icons of companies should be interesting in general.
2. Because he's cool: Sonic the Hedgehog (SEGA): He's a speedy blue boi, and I believe he can do anything.
3. Because his character makes sense: Shadow the Hedgehog (SEGA): He's very edgy and has his own game that has toilet humor in it. His looks and personality fits the edge like a smooth criminal.
4. Because he has flaws: James the Red Engine (Thomas & Friends): James is mainly attention-seeking. I gotta love his humor.
5. Because of his actions: Gordon the Big Blue Engine (Thomas & Friends): Gordon may be big and strong, but everything he does really gives me a chuckle and I have no idea why.
6. Because of her beliefs: Princess Peach (Nintendo): Princesses gotta have beliefs, right? She's the best princess out of the whole Mario universe!
7. Because of subtext: Diddy Kong (Nintendo): Just a small monkey who wears a hat with Nintendo's logo on it. Maybe he works for Nintendo.
8. Because he's smart: Miles "Tails" Prower (SEGA): Tails is very intelligent, he makes lots of interesting gadgets and inventions.
9. Because he's misunderstood: Cranky Kong (Nintendo): People always wondered if Cranky Kong was the first Donkey Kong. I'm curious too, actually.
10. Because he's a well done archetype: Toad (Nintendo): Toad's a talking fungus. Enough said.
11. Because she's amiable: Yuri (Doki Doki Literature Club): Yuri's really intelligent. She's into horror for some reason. Not that I'm bothered about it.
12. Because she subverts a despised cliche: Rouge the Bat (SEGA): Rouge is the only Sonic universe character who looks like an actual woman in my opinion.
13. Because of her dedication: Rosalina (Nintendo): She's a guardian of the galaxy!
14. Because I can relate: Natsuki (Doki Doki Literature Club): Natsuki has a short fuse like me.
15. Because he has redeemable qualities: Thomas the Tank Engine (Thomas & Friends): My favorite locomotive of all time sometimes makes mistakes, but he's willing to redeem himself by doing anything he is requested to do.
16. Because he makes me laugh: Knuckles the Echidna (SEGA): Knuckles has very iconic catchphrases! The best ones are from Sonic Adventure!
17. Because she's polite: Sayori (Doki Doki Literature Club): Sayori is the club's light bulb. She always wants to keep her friends happy.
18. Because he's honest: Professor Elvin Gadd (Nintendo): Let's just say he never tells a lie and leave it at that.
19. Because he puts others first: Toby the Tram Engine (Thomas & Friends): Toby is the wisest engine in the show. He treats kindly to his younger steam locos.
20. Because he's attractive: Ray the Flying Squirrel (SEGA): Who can resist loving a squirrel that mimics Mario's cape ability?
21. Because he's responsible: Classic Tails (SEGA): He'll need to pay more attention next time he sees a bomb.
22. Because he's a leader: Vector the Crocodile (SEGA): He is the most hilarious member of Chaotix! Just find the computer room!
23. Because she's crazy in a good way: Princess Daisy (Nintendo): Daisy is the most energetic princess in the Mario universe. She must be very strong if she once sent Bowser flying.
24. Because she's a good companion: Emily the Emerald Engine (Thomas & Friends): Emily is really good at helping her comrades.
25. Because he's a good relative: Toadsworth (Nintendo): He's an elder talking fungus who acts like a father figure to Princess Peach. Speaking of which, who's her real dad?
26. Because he feels human: Wario (Nintendo): Wario is very buff. In an older game, Wario is unable to die for any reason! If we all were like him though...
27. Because he learns from mistakes: Percy the Small Engine (Thomas & Friends): Percy's always reckless, but he has good reputation like his bestie.
28. Because I strongly pity him: Big the Cat (SEGA): Big shouldn't have to be treated poorly by fans.
29. Because he's creative: Master Chief Petty Officer John 117 (Halo): Master Chief always does stuff that he would not normally do in real life.
30. Because he's rebellious: Silver the Hedgehog (SEGA): When things don't go his way, it's no use!
31. Because he has great potential: Yoshi (Nintendo): Yoshi is OP!
32. Because of his role in a group: Metal Sonic (SEGA): Enough said.
33. Because he appeals to a demographic: Doctor Eggman / Robotnik (SEGA): He always counts on his friends to help him take over the world.
34. Because he's a satire/spoof: Luigi (Nintendo): Luigi's humor in a bunch of games is great! Lots of people made him win by doing absolutely nothing!
35. Because she's charming: Amy Rose (SEGA): Amy's cute charm always makes her team happy.
36. Because of those who hate her: Monika (Doki Doki Literature Club): Everybody is expected to be with Monika at the end of DDLC. She's not bad at all in a few headcanons, but mine is the opposite...
37. Because not enough people like him: Waluigi (Nintendo): Waluigi is hilarious! Why do people always ignore him!?
38. Because he has nostalgic value: Donkey Kong (Nintendo): Donkey Kong is the second most iconic character alongside Mario! No one can forget about him!
39. Because gold comes out of his mouth: Bowser (Nintendo): Bowser once intimidated Homer Simpson during the Fawful Express incident.
40. Because he changed for the better: Arbiter Thel' Vadam (Halo): In the first two Halo games, Thel' and the entire covenant dub Master Chief a demon. Between the end of Halo 2 and the start of Halo 3, The Covenant Empire was dissolved into two groups. Thel' became part of the Swords of Sanghelios. The elites and the United Nations Space Command made an alliance to stop Tartarus from activating Installation 05. All that happened whilst Master Chief chases the Prophet of Truth to get the activation index. John leaves Cortana behind as he plummets to Earth. There, Sergeant Major Avery Johnson tells the Spartan that the Arbiter is now friends with the UNSC. Throughout Halo 3, John got used to having Thel' as a friend.
41. Because he influenced me: Mighty the Armadillo (SEGA): He's pretty strong.
42. Because I can: Classic Sonic (SEGA): It's just Sonic from the early games but in 3D. That's about it.
