Description Everything in Minecraft is Purple and Black! Even the title screen and everything is purple and black! All I did was try and install the update within the launcher, but my computer randomly rebooted and I had to try it again, and this is the result I have. Anyone know how to fix this!?

it's what happens when you run it on the source engine.

Source 2 Engine? I don't recall having Source 2. My PC punished me by restarting by itself at the time, and since Minecraft was updating at the time, this was the result.

uninstalling and reinstalling should reinstall all the texture files as long as you have the official version of minecraft

My computer randomly restarted while the game was downloading the latest snapshot (18w11a).

ah that may be why it must've downloaded without the texture files

Took your advice, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and Minecraft is still purple and black. Minecraft may seem to be corrupt after that random reboot.

Do the other update versions work?

Older official snapshots before this one actually work just fine with no problems at all.

Went back to 18w10d and the purple and black stuff is still there. Is the launcher and game corrupted?

Alright, I'll take your advice and attempt to do what you had suggested by uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
