Fan art of =R-no71 's kitty Neige. Been meaning to do it for a while, but really got inspired to finish it when chatting with Nono during the livestream last night (at least, what my ISP would let me stay and chat for...). Hoping this drawing bug will keep up. I've even been neglecting RPG Maker for drawing lately!

Easily like the best thing you've done that I've seen! The crisp and clean (but detailed) style suits you well. I especially like the crispness against the blended background - particularly because you didn't use the gradient tool, and I can still see the lines of color. Keeps a certain consistency within the contrast. My only actual critique is that a very few of the places you chose to shadow are a bit odd upon inspection (unnoticeable at a glance), and some places seem to be missing a shadow. For example, I think you need something on the thumb, or the lighting suggests that it's bent entirely backwards towards the character's face. And where there are two small pointy shadows below the gold band, I'm not sure the size/placement of those makes sense. Originality - 4 stars - an original technique for you, and a unique pose.

O HAY A CRITIQUE
Aye, I really like this style. Borrowing a lot of technique from =R-no71 , the owner of the character, as well as TWEWY style. It's really the first definitive style I've found that's really, really fun to draw. Hard to translate to paper, but stupidly enjoyable on SAI.
And I totally see what you mean about the shadow stuff. The fingers were so stylized and deformed I kind of lost track of how to shade them. derp. lol.
The pointy shadows are supposed to be hair. Her ponytail is frickin' massive and the shadows on that should be moved waaaaay to the front in general.

Yeah I could totally see the shadows being the kind of thing that gets difficult to see clearly when you've been staring at the thing too long. The kind of detail that I'd leave alone for a week and fix later when I'd cleared my mind of the jumble-yness.

I really like getting things done in as few sittings as possible, and preferably consecutive sittings. or else I never get back to them. ever. it is quite sad. ;__;
but aye, I will give shadows a closer inspection and get more used to them in the future.

Oh, and yes... I like the "Warm" feeling", while the title and attitude of the picture is "Cool". Seems like you're able to mix Feuding Brothers and to make them getting along, are you a wizard or something?

The title idea came to me because I was watching West Side Story on TV (a musical that I performed in during high school, one of my favourites) and the song "Cool" started. I looked at SAI and thought, "Neige is pretty cool." so it became Cool.

Now that's really unexpected buddy. Thank you! If I have to say something relevant as well, I'd say that I clearly see an imrpovement in your stuff compared to what you've done some times ago. In terms of perspective, but also and mostly about the fact that your art becomes more and more clean and neat.
I like a lot the "warm" feeling that this picture emits. Colors are well chosen and I find the whole picture original

Aye, he's had a lot of influence on my style in the past couple of months. I've been trying out different styles for the past year or so, and his lining technique is just so much fun! It also resembles the intensity of the art of The World Ends With You, which is another one of my favourite styles and another source of inspiration for me. I just need to keep practicing and see what my style ends up being.
