Description
Ticks are a parasitic pest that has recently expanded into fire ant territories. In large numbers, they can desiccate creatures dozens of times their size, inflating their dark shells into bulbous sacs of blood, which they then use as food for their young. Getting rid of them is a titanic task, their eight limbs embedding themselves in the body as they tear through the exoskeleton with their jaws to insert their retractable needle-like tongue.

They can vary in size from a clenched fist to larger than two heads, but it is believed that their size can continue to increase with prolonged feeding.
