I have to agree with Dethart, the feet are a bit flat and the helmet is a bit out of perspective, but otherwise it could be a fully finished piece.
The helmet's right side (as I look at it) is just a bit wider than the other side, so I think it just needs narrowing a bit, and the foot just needs raising slightly on the upper cap to create a slightly more curved effect. Apart from that an excellent piece of work, on par with better known artists.

Thanks again for the constructive criticism. I'll try and alter the helmet and feet when I'm finishing of the picture. Haha, and thank you for being so kind!

I hope I do too! Another year of college?! and the another?! Blimey well it sounds like you're enjoying it. Do you know what University you want to apply to?

jackabe In reply to zahnib [2011-10-07 21:39:16 +0000 UTC]

yeah well it's like an introduction course to uni it lets me try all different styles and art forms over 12 months and builld a portfolio also most uni's here ask for it if you want a course in graphic design so really I have to and as for university no idea which one yet just as long as I like it, it is credible and not too far away I don't mind what about you?

Oh cool that sounds really good, I'll be expecting lots of new art from you then In terms of University? I don't know at the moment, I mean I'd love to come and study in England, but I'm think maybe Melbourne. We'll see though.

yeah I should be making lots more I am at the moment for my current unit at college,
but haven't had much chance to upload on the same note your art is looking really good .
I have to say and I'm jealous of your digital painting it is seriously good.
I really like your textures and tones as well as your motion in fabric. keep up the good work.
And I hope you come and study in England but if not I'm sure Melbourne would be a great university .

Yeah finding time to upload stuff is sometimes tricky. Thank you! Those four b&w pieces were for my I.T. Major Work (a project you work on for the whole year and is then a large portion of you assessment). Haha, well I have a long way to go, how's your tablet going? Yeah I've been trying to work out how to do different textures, still only learning
Yeah we'll see what happens, maybe I can transfer to England for a year or something (don't remember what it's called).

oh nice when do you find out how you did in your major project?
the tablet is like another limb don't know how I would work without it,
it's just so much better than a mouse. And even though your only trying out textures
they still look really realistic (to me anyway ). And I think the thing you are referring
to is a placement year or transfer, I think but either way I know what your on about

I think we get our results maybe April next year, maybe before then I'm not 100% sure. Yes it is soooooo much easier than a mouse! There's still some things I think could do with improvement but I'm still happy with it.

Dethart [2011-10-04 13:23:01 +0000 UTC]

Looks good, but maybe a tiny piece of critique, his helmet seems a bit off in perspective, if you get my drift. If you're drawing digitally, maybe use the warp-tool to straighten out the shape and maybe his feet are a little flat. But I think the detail and shading is very good. So keep up the good work

zahnib In reply to Dethart [2011-10-05 05:25:36 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the constructive criticism. Sometimes you spend so long looking at something that you miss obvious things (like the helmet). The feet were done in a rush and so are admittedly a little dodgy. Thanks again though
