lol GIMP.... still trying to get the hang of it. It changes the look of my pictures when I resize 'em and it drives me BONKERS. >8C
but oh well, I'll figure it out eventually~

...if you don't, it's Red, one of the characters in the Kittenen comic, before he becomes.... scary. XD

Very nice use of a dark palette, you made the most of it as well, the colors flow naturally together and the details are precise and well done. The tree's in the background are vew nice and use very nice approach to texture. I especially love the dim lit sky in the background, giving off a nice feel of space and distance of the actual heaviness of the forest. The grass itself is my favorite part as well due to how messy it looks and it is very realistic in a abstract sense, but you nailed all the details here. so it works very nicely.
The only negatives I have is that the tree's texture (the one on the front right) is lost in translation with the trees in the back, I see your technique used in the background elements just fine, but that same technique used in the front makes for a very scrambled tree that just needs its own method of creating textures... It's probably the brush you used was the same thickness as used for the tree's in the back. I can see your technique used the same method and it just didn't feel as if it translated well.
Aside from that very nice work on the background. The character feels connected with this setting and due to that palette you've chosen feels as if he is within the light of area, he blends right in , in a good way. I especially love the details you used for the hair and pants.

Yes, you're definitely right, the front trees did not turn out. I'll be a little more careful with the bark on trees in the foreground from now on.

the linelessness is delicious, i am truely in love with it and your style combined, they should be wed together yes ok..
THE WUFFER SHADOWS are pretty amazing as well I'm loving their facial expressions and the brown color scheme thrown into all of this just makes me love this piece moararsar!
AND THE WEEDS AND GRASSES ARE PRETTY COOL TOO WITH THEIR IMAGINARY SHUTTER SHADES TAKING UP HALF OF THEIR FACE and all that
the only thing that I dont really like seeing is the scribbles all over the trees, especially the one closet with the wuffer on it and.. the right one is the one im talking about btw drpdrpdrp, the little loopado scribble is like abbabbdbabb I am racist against loopados, obviously, but anywho I think they couldve looked nicer if the scribbleys werent so harsh and stand outish
then again maybe you were going for a harshness considering the trees would look very menacing while they hide wuffershadows EVEN SO THERE IS MY BIT OF CRIT FOR TODAY

Oh jeez I know, the scribbles on the trees are terrible. xC I tried something new for the bark because I don't have brushes I like in GIMP. ...and it was a failed experiment. XD
