Shadow's POV

It was a nice afternoon in planet Mobius. I just finished eating lunch, with my favorite fishes! Me and her friends were now busy preparing to climb up a mountain to enioy the sunset. I don't need to prepare much except for food and drinks because I can easily fly up there.

Eggman and DarkWind haven't been seen for a while. Either it's because they surrender after our last fight, or because they're preparing a plan. But we're still in defensive mode when we go out of our hideout, but we decided it's time to have some fun.

Everyone was done preparing. We decided to go out now. We peeked slowly to the door and walked slowly towards the mountain. It was quite short but still pretty high. It wasn't too far away from our hideout. Sonic decided to stay and guard the hideout because there's lots of secret information hidden there.

We started climbing up the mountain. It was foggy and makes it quite hard to see. I flew slowly above them as they climbed up. I heard a clang on my right side. I quickly looked that way. Nothing... I looked straight again, then looked back down to check on the others. Oh no Tail was missing. Probably just exploring the place again. But just incase I sent out an echolocation. She's nowhere... I quickly stopped.

Another clang from my left. I looked that way... Nothing... I quickly looked back down.. Only Shadow was left now. I sent out another echolocation. Again nothing. I quickly land next to shadow. "Shadow... Have you seen where the others went?" I asked. "what?" she said then looked around. "I-I didn't. Where are they?!" Shadow started to panic. A breeze came clearing the fog. Behind us.. It was Eggman and DarkWind! "YOU!?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE OTHERS!" I shouted. "ah.. They're being forced to give information on your powers and to lend in their information. If not... They'll face dreadfull consequences" Eggman said."You won't be getting anything from me or them!!" I said with disgust.

I then quickly run towards him and opened my claws and prepared to scratch him. When he whistled and DarkWind jumped from behind me pinning me down. "AAGH!" I shouted. "calm down.. Surrender to us or you're going to have the same fate as your dear friend" DarkWind said and opened his wings to show Shadow... Her body pale and lifeless laying on the ground with blood pouring off her chest. And tears trickling down her face. "NOO!!" I quickly shouted and kicked DarkWind off me. He crashes to a tree with a surprised look in his face.

I quickly ran towards Shadow. Her body... I can't dare look at her. I should've stayed by her side and didn't let my past control me. I should've fought beside her and not let her be outpowered. "Shadow! Shadow!" I shout next to her. No reply... "please Shadow... Don't leave me..." I said sadly. "plese Shadow..." I said whispering. Her eyes opened slightly. "Shi-Shifter... Go... Save the others..." she said weakly. "I don't think I can do it!" I said. Tears started to flow down my cheeks. "yes... Yes you can" Shadow said. "light up your inner fire" she said weakly before letting out her last breath. My tears started flowing like a water fall. "so.. Surrender. Or die!" Eggman said. "I'd Rather DIE!" I shouted and turned towards them. I walked slowly but strongly.

DarkWind slowly walked towards me too. DarkWind started roared and run. I gave a growl then run towards him. We are meters away... Then Feet.. And Inches when I quickly opened my wings and flew right above his face. I flew higher then spun backwards, then dived inwards and shot a big blast in front of DarkWind. Causing a gigantic explosition of dust. I flew out of it.

DarkWind quickly flew up and chased me. I flew towards the peak of the mountain. Snow starts to show on the ground and trees started to dissapear. I can see the peak. Just a little bit... Aagh! I got pinned down by DarkWind. He prepares a blast. I quickly scratched his stomach making him yowl in pain. He lets me go and takes a look at it. Blood dripping from it. He has a surprised look in his face and quickly looks at me in anger "HOW DARE YOU?!?" he said while preparinga big blast and shot. The fireball going to quickly for me to see. Without knowing I was falling backwards towards the end of the mountain with a burning sensation on my chest.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Birds flapping above me. The red blood sunset shining my scales. The water moving as slow as can be. Snow falling above me. Trees starts to arive. And oof.. I tumbled downthe mountains hitting rocks and tree branches... Next thing I see... Darkness...

I opened my eyes slowly. My budy feels painful and weak. I tried to open my mouth or wings. But I couldn't. I tried to move my feet. But it was stuck in place. My eyes quickly shot open, to see I'm in a cage. I looked around me to see I was wrapped in chains and there was one covering my head and wings. It kept me in a bundle, where the only thing I can move is my head. I looked around me, and I see bruises and scratches on me. It felt painful against the cold hard metal. I looked up and realise that I am being hung in this cage. I can't seem to shift either, I think my energy is drained and these chains makes it hard for me to focus on what I'd like to shift into.

I started rambling around trying to at least move a bit. I then hear grumling from my stomache. And a horrible headache. "calm down... You're just gonna make it worse"I hear Sonic say. I looked around. I can't see him. "I'm in a cage next to you. Dr. Eggman brought you in a week ago and you won't seem to wake up" he said. I gave a surprised growl. 1 WEEK? 1 WEEK!? what on earth?! "I heared Shadow died didn't she?" he said. I gave a low moan trying to say yes. It was silence for a while before I hear a door unlock, and foot steps breaking the silence. Guards starts walking around and looking at me in the cage. Giving a humph before walking away. I hear the door shut and silence again.

"listen Shifter. I have the guards keys. I stole it 3 days ago but I waited for you to wake up. Here the plan is at exactly 12 o'clock in the afternoon, the guards always goes on a one hour lunch break. There I can unlock my cage and help you get free. We can then go to Tail's and the Others cage in the other rooms. Then we can escape. It's risky because the guard is alwayd having lunch near the entrance, but I located one with fewer guards." Sonic said.

I gave a quick purr. "Great. We start in an hour" he said.

It was another loong hour. Hunger starts to creep into my soul. And my body feels slightly numb. Another guard walked in. And checks on us. One of them then looks at his wrist. And says to the other "Lunch time. Lets go.". They said and exited. "Now!" Sonic said and I heared keys clanking and a small squeak of metal. I then see Sonic coming from my right side. I sighed in relief.

He quickly opens my cage then gets in. First he unlocks my body. Then he climbed on me and unlocks the head. I fell but lands on my feet. I get a big breath of air. "thanks" I said. "we have to hurry. The guards are right in front on this door." he whispers.

We walked out and he quickly chooses a key. He then looks at me. "you better hide" he said. I shifted into a changewing, my scales are green witha bit of red. I quickly hid myself and Sonic quickly unlocks the door. The guard giving a yelp infront. Sonic quickly punched the one closes to him and I smacked mine with my tail.

"this way" Sonic said and runs towards another door. He unlocks it and we see tail and the others inside cages. "Sonic? Where's shif- oh ok" she said as Sonic gives me a key to unlock Tail. I unhide myself so I can see my hands. I walked up to Tail's cage and unlocks her lock. She gets out. "thanks Shifter" she said. "no problem" I said. After everyone was free we went out. "So where's the exit?" I asked sonic. He pointed up. I looked up to see a big hole pointing all away to a head roof. Sonic looks at me. "can you help us up?" he asked. I smiled then shifted into a slitherwing. "hold on tight" I said as everyone climbed on me and held on to my scales and wings.

I first slithered around the walls before going on the hole. It was quite wide. I kept spinning. I can feel everyone tense as their hands become sweaty on my scales. Just a little bit more... "Agh!" I shouted as a spear was held in front on me. I quickly bit it and dragged it and the man off the railing. I managed to spit some poison on his hand as he fell. "ooh nice one shifter" Tail said.

I climbed up a bit higher and we reached the window. Everyone was upside down. I see it's sealed tight. But I suppose the glass is still a bit weak. I tried outting my fangs in. It made in but created a loud crack. I thought a bit then said to the others "Once I smash this glass everyone quickly go out.". I feel the others nod.

I banged my head to the glass and caused a big bang. "THEY ESCAPED!" we heard people shout. Everyone quickly climbed off my neck and through the hole. I tried to slither through before. Boom!

The glasses turns to shards as I fall backwards. The whole sealing toppled off with burn marks. Made by noneother then DarkWind. I see all my friends falling frontwards toward sthe edge of the building. But I fell backwards. I quickly shifted into a nadder and maneuvered out of the big chunks of glass and roof and guards.

I made it out of the building but, the sky still red as blood. The same as when I fell. I quickly flew away as I spot my friends running through the forest towards the mountain. I shifted into a night fury and flapped as fast as I can towards the mountain.

I can see the peak of it before I felt weight on my shoulders again, I felt claws digging into my scales. I yelled in pain.

I quickly held his feet and pushed the claws off. I blasted a plasma blast and flew through it and dissapeared. DarkWind looked confused. Before his eyes become straight towards me and turned to slits. He must have already got my scent. I flew as fast as I can towards the mountain.

I flew in zigzags so my smell goes everywhere. Then I flew in front of DarkWind making myself reapear again as my scales started to look like clouds and starts getting colourful. I opened my wings and slowed down in front of him. He looks at me and gave a scowl. I gave a loud growl and I felt heat suddenly went through my spines and throat. I felt a sudden rush of power and strength.

DarkWind looks surprised and for the first time... Slightly scared. I looked at myself and I see that my spines have lit up blue. I realized I've became an Alpha! I hovered as DarkWind hovered. "give me your best DarkWind. You won't have a chance" I said. "I have a better chance than you to live!" he said. He quickly prepares the biggest blast I've ever seen. I too starts getting as much as possible. I see gas starts to form in Darkwind's mouth. I quickly shot in his mouth. I see an explosion starting in him. I quickly flew away as fast as possible. "NOO!! THIS ISN'T THE END SHIFTER!!" he shouted before a large boom came behind me. I looked around to see a big explosion. Teeth and scales scattered everywhere.

The explosion starts dying off and it was night now. I looked down to see Dr. Eggman looking extremly angry. I dived and landed in front of him. "give up Eggman. You have no chance" I said. He gave an angry growl and gets out a sword with dragons head cutted off a body carving in the metal. I gave a loud roar. He starts running towards me and points the sword at my neck. I quickly flew off carrying him on my tail. I decided to shift into a sentinel so he can't cut through it. "Argh!" I hear him rustle.

I fly as fast as I can towards the ocean with no Islands or rocks close. I see a storm ahead with lots of thunder and rain. Waves rustle down bellow. I quickly flew towards the storm.

As I went in I looked at my tail.. He was gone! I looked to my side and sees him lifting the sword up. About to hit my neck! I watched when suddenly. I see hin gets taken off by a stormcutters claws and drooped in the ocean. "Nooo!" he shoutedas he fell to his death.

I looked at the stormcutter. It was... DarkWind? "Th-Thank you. But why did you save me?" I asked him. "I realized what I've been doing was wrong... That man has no soul... Years ago I've wanted to get out. But he made me think as if I had no chance to... I'm sorry... Please would you forgive me to what I've done... To whom I've killed." he said sadly. "I forgive you... I remembered when I was there. I know what it felt like to have no hope. The feeling of guilt and pain to know I've killed someone who's doing the right thing" I said. He smiled at me. "what do you say we get back?" I asked. "Ofc... Oww!" he yelled as he starts to fall.

I see a sword stuck on his wing. The same sword Eggman has. I heard a terrible laugh as I look bellow and see eggman just fell. We were in great heights so he must have had a chance to throw the sword before he fell. I quickly shifted into a stormcutter and dived down towards DarkWind. "HOLD ON!" I shouted. He was a bit far away. But we're getting close to the water.

He fell in with a big splash. I shifted into a seashocker and dived in after him. I grabbed him with my feet and shifted into a stormcutter and flew up. Out of the ocean. I looked down at him. "Are you ok?" I asked. He coughed a bit then turned his head towards me. "yes.. Thank you" he said and smiled.

I reached the shore and I see sonic, tail, and the others waiting for me. I flew close to the shore and landed. "Why did you bring him back?!" Sonic shouted. "He wants to be with us. He's just like me. He never liked it there. But he couldn't get out." I said. "fine. He can stay" Sonic said. DarkWind smiled. "thanks" he whispered. "now can someone steadily take this sword out?" I asked.

Tail stepped forward and slowly took it out. I then shifted into a prickleboogle and shoot a bit to his wing. (prickleboogle's shoots has healing abilities) Sonic then bandaged his wing. "there! You should be able to fly again in a few days!" I said. "thank you.. For giving me another chance" he said. We all smiled at him.

It’s been months since the last battle. Everything has been better around here. Peace has spread throughout the land and DarkWind and I have became best friends! I've even started developing feeling for him! Those days changed everything!
