Background: Emrys never really knew his birth parents, he was raised by his grandpa so everything he does know about his mother and father are all from stories his grandpa told him when he was a kid. Not that he cared much honestly, it's not that uncommon for children to not have parents in Marsh after all so he never really felt out of place. It's also not uncommon for people to be poor which he and his grandpa were.... a lot. His grandpa did what he could to get by but not even his job as a builder gave them much of anything plus, half of it was spent in medical bills since he would often get hurt due to the awful and unpredictable weather conditions. But he looked after Emrys alright, he did the best he could; he made sure to keep Emrys sufficiently fed and warm at night even if that meant that he, himself, would have to go another day without food. He just wanted his grandson to grow up - to survive.
                      And he did.
                    Soon it was Emrys looking after his grandpa, who had grown too old to do much of anything really. It hurt Emrys to see him like that but he'd kill himself before abandoning his grandpa who had always fought so hard to make him thrive. Finding work was the hardest part, honestly; for a while, Emrys would sell homemade goods to neighbours but even that opportunity flew out of the window when he was no longer a teen and the other Marshers didn't feel sorry enough to actually buy things from him.
                    Emrys found his money getting drained day by day and his grandpa getting sicker day by day. He was at his wits end which is why, when he was approached by a posh looking caeli who was wondering if Emrys would be interested in being a, well, sex worker, he couldn't really say no. What's the worst that could happen anyway?
                    The answer is a lot. A lot of bad can happen. And it wasn't even the work per se - he did have many customers who were well, nice wouldn't be the word to describe them but they weren't awful. They were somewhat respectful even. All except for one that.... kinda took advantage of Emrys. Made him his play thing. And Emrys, naive as he was, just went along with it, even when the abuse was extremely visible.
                    His grandpa, bedridden, could only worry as the injuries grew on Emry's body. As new scars and cuts were added each day. He tried to beg Emrys to quit but he wouldn't, he couldn't. They'd be left with nothing if Emrys quit and he wasn't going to chance that.
                    Eventually his.... ex? whatever you call them grew tired of Emrys and just left. Just up and left one day and Emrys felt free for the first time in years. He wasn't scared of going to work anymore which was great because it meant he could actually do what he was paid for- his ex kinda booked him everyday before so he would make less money than he was supposed to. But now he was free to work properly and he did, he was good at what he did and he was great and getting customers to come into the rundown place.
                    After a few years, his grandpa perished to the illness that had slowly started eating his body away. It hurt Emrys a lot- it hurt him so much but he didn't feel alone like he thought he would when his grandpa had first gotten sick. Now he had friends, sorta so it was okay. Everything would be okay.

        Ø Shemus [Friend/Crush] - Emrys had pretty much promised himself to never even like another caeli after the chaos that was the first one, afraid he'd get himself into another nasty situation with an abuser but... But Shemus is different. He's kind and respectful of Emry's bondaries and he's always extra careful with his scars even though Emrys has told him he doesnt have to, it was hard not to fall for Shemus honestly. But with his work and his past? Emrys' not sure he's ready for a relationship but he lets Shemus know how much he likes and appreciates him every time he visits the nest.
        Ø Coyotl [Acquaintance] - Coyotl was the one who usually took care of Emry's wounds when he was young and, believe it or not, he did it for free. He was also the one that used to take care of Emry's grandpa whenever his sickness spicked.
