It takes time and some pre-planning to get all the colors correct. The recent up-date screwed up the obsidian colors for what i was using them for, though, so i have to go back and fix all of those up when i get the chance. xD
it is not difficult to learn how to make the pixel art at all ^-^

To be honest, I've never quite got the hang of it, other than completing a couple of simple projects in Minecraft, where the potential material color gamut is arguably much smaller. XD Though, that may also be due to not having dedicated as much time to it as I might have liked. ^^" Speaking of the Terraria update...I'm bloody addicted. Again. Its like playing the same game that I know and love, yet brand new all the same. :3

Verily. I can't put the update down! ^.^ I've already made two characters for it, one to specifically play on a fresh private server map with some friends. :3 I've been hosting through Hamachi...its been the most awesome insanity that anyone could ask for. XDD Yay for good games, and awesome updates. :3 One of days, I'll actually get good at in-game pixel art. XD I suppose that it might be useful to somewhat apply what I know from pixel work in GIMP....maybe. :3

that actually helps out a lot. i use Photoshop before i start building in Terraria. i make what i am going to build in Terraria in Photoshop so i have a "blue print". It helps out a lot that i know how to use Photoshop

Just checked your works today but didn't really have time to comment... And I like them, I especially like the way you use torches to accent colors of bricks.

Torches are key to a lot of things. They can even change the color of the brick entirely if used a certain way.

That's true. Myself, I love to combine demon torches with silver or hellstone bricks, they look just fantastic together.

Yeah, how did you do that? I've tried at least ten times and kept getting it wrong.

Believe it or not, the wings on Cadence are made with the same color brick/wall. the gradient effect was made by just changing the torch colors that were used. The bricks/walls of the wings are Red Brick and Red Wall. The main torches are Purple Torches and the wing tips are Blue Torches.
