Description
I kept threatening to draw a picture of my favorite Transformer, and here he is.Hound in his happy place, folks...I'd even go as far as to call it his natural habitat. XD What mech would find basking in the mud after a long trail drive, preferable to the sterility of Cybertron?
Nature Boy, that's who. *pats Hound on the head*

That basically gives Hound free reign for torturing Sunstreaker... I wonder if he told any of the other Autobots about the mud shield. Although I doubt that most of them would use it

A lot of layers and blending went into that mud. XD Good thing I also had a guide to help me get the textures down.
Heh, that's probably one of my favorite things about Hound; he's so happy most of the time, that a huge smile just fits him perfectly.
Thanks for your comment and your fave, it's most appreciated!

and if I seriously didn't know better, I would have thought you manipulated the mud from a photograph, that's how freakin realistic it is! Especially the tracks within the mud...I'm still some awe over how well you did it.
You're so welcome! Keep up the nice work!

Zanne In reply to Armadria [2008-12-17 06:27:19 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, I really appreicate it! Heh, like I said, I worked from a reference, and just layered the brushes like crazy, to try and get some of the same textures. So in a way, I did use a photograph.
The tracks I had to use a guide to get the same look; as I was saying to another friend, I tried doing it completely without looking at anything and they looked terrible. XD

YEAH. Dear lord, they did perfect with his voice. Every time I think of him, I can't help but think of 'It's a Wonderful Life'.
And as for the answer to both... well, I think I can safely say that it would be quite hilarious. xD
But other than that, use your imagination.

Heheheh. Eh? Now I'm curious; how do you connect Ken Sansom to 'It's a Wonderful Life?'
Awww.... XD Well I must say, my imagination is quite fertile.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
stripedwine In reply to Zanne [2008-12-14 05:45:38 +0000 UTC]
Well, Ken based Hound's voice off Jimmy Stewart, who I think is a perfect choice. ^^
And I must say that mine is as well.
But I will say this... no matter the persona, I think I can safely say that both would entail getting mud in some peculiar places.

Zanne In reply to stripedwine [2008-12-14 06:02:36 +0000 UTC]
...I can't believe I never made that connection. XD Now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense; way to be observant there, Zanne. XD; And yes, it is. And thanks to you, whenever I see 'It's a Wonderful Life," my brain will be corrupted. XDD
Well of course, but only in the best possible way.

Goodness, thank you! Drawing mechs is so new to me; I'm always afraid I'm going to make them too static or rigid. Happens when one is used to nothing but organic shapes. XD I'm very glad you can see the character beneath the armor; it makes me feel good about my efforts so far.

I love how you can pull off such incredible nature effects with so few strokes in this piece. The grass is very convincing, and that mud looks so real... makes me want to wash my hands XD
Those tire treads though, wow. what detail! looks like I can touch them! hehe.
Aww, his face looks so blissfully peaceful... that enormous grin on his face, almost like he's drunk or something XD
excellent work, dear!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Zanne In reply to birdewilliams [2008-12-11 00:37:08 +0000 UTC]
Why thank you! I tried to be as minimal as I could, but it also helped to look at pictures of mud and just sort of see how the textures lay. There are many layers of texture that make up the mud on that piece, actually, so I guess it's not that minimal after all. *laughs*
Heh, the tire treads are a combination of "knockout," and two layers of brushwork.
Heehee, I love Hound's face...his slag-eating grin really makes me giggle. One of my friends thought something a bit dirtier that Hound might have been up to. *cackle* Seriously though, drunk is probably a good way to think of it; fresh air, a long day of trail-riding, and probably a few close-calls and falls along the way. He's probably pretty exhausted...but very satisfied. XD
Thank you very much, lady!
