Description
Here's the latest entry in the countdown to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Up next is the gigantic hunger machine, Deviljho. Of the brute-types, this guy is one of my favorites, mostly due to his design. The combination of giant ravenous dinosaur and dragon(?) with an aggressive moveset makes for an interesting fight. I suppose if you rely on ranged weapons, he's not too tough but the G-rank normal and Savage variants still pack a punch and can ruin your day rather quickly if you make a mistake. This design is available on our Redbubble store: www.redbubble.com/people/drakeβ¦

These are all based on creatures from the Monster Hunter video game series. I wanted to draw up some 2D emblems for the various creatures which is how you get things like this!

A while ago I did a set of decorative masks from a series. I happened to take a picture of one and the image seemed to work so I used it for my profile. You can find more info on that series here: www.drakenwrath.com/2012/11/maβ¦

I'd love to know a bit about your process when designing these emblems!
Also, I think this is one of the best in terms of instantly identifying the monster in question. ^_^

Thanks! To give you some insight into the process, I actually design all of these emblems in a program called Rhinoceros. It's a commercial 3D modeling and rendering software but I use the 2D commands to make the designs you see here. From what I gather, this is similar to how people design things in vector programs. I'm currently looking at doing some youtube tutorials explaining how I create these emblems in Rhino. Even though it's a very expensive program, you can actually do all of the commands you see in my designs in its free demo! Right now I'm looking at my options for recording setups and I might start the series in the next couple months if it looks like people are interested in seeing something like that.
Regarding this one, I think everyone's favorite angry pickle lends itself well to a circular design. I can almost picture it rolling after hunters Uragaan-style which would be terrifyingly awesome.
