Description
Arian: proto-type of tall, blonde, muscular German guy.Hitler: short, ink-haired, crazy Austrian dictator.
Now, spot the differences!
I do not support any of these guys. They were all equally wrong and equally right. Some did the best for their country, some for themselves. It belongs to the past, though: now it's our time to make history.
World War II
Starring: Hitler marching snobbishly in front of a column

His dad was Jewish
He also had eyesight issues and had to wear glasses
He even had irritable bowls and was taking countless drugs
All which was against the perfect race he envisioned

Wasn't Hitler part Jewish as well?

Pfft, we all descend from monkeys anyway.
Apparently, he had some Jewish blood in his veins. But sum being poor, becoming an orphan at 16 and the tension pervading Europe at the time.. No one really cared for Jews, actually. Stalin killed 10 million people and no-one knows (he was allied with the US at the time), gas-rooms were tested on homos and handicapped people before the war started (and no one knows, as homophobia makes you cooler...), Hitler's body was neve found (but that would mean USA FAIL! and no-one wants to hear that.)

I've heard of these things.
A history teacher of mine made sure that we knew of horrors of our past.
I slipped into a sort of depression after reading of such atrocities.
We learn what our leaders want us to know.
History is always written by the victor.
But no one said that "history" was completely true.

We all did something bad, that's why I can't be racist. We all decend from monkeys, but differently from them we kill for fun and money.
The first time I saw Auschwitz, it was a 1945 video-tape. I was 9. I watched the white corpses rolling down the hills of Birkenau, naked rat-looking people kicked into gas-rooms, children burnt. I watched, learnt that was terrible and was said that my people co-operated. When I had to study WWII, I couldn't look at any picture of Hitler, for it sent shivers down my spine. Let alone the fact that I could not pronouce words such as "Nigger" without feeling dirty. No, wait. I still can't.
No country is pure, but we can not keep on looking behind. There's a future we have to build.
Western History is made by the winner. Try asking an Indian about History. They learn it differently: for them, history is not a sequence of wars or economical crisis, but a series of social changements. For them, there are fewer numbers and a lot of facts. Now, if no-one's the winner but the one behaving well, how can you state the winner writes their history, also? (note: they had Gandhi.)

There's the difference between our educational system and your's. Our schools babied, told us half truths, until they thought we were "mature" enough to handle the actual truth. And it just so happened that high school was the right time. I hate our educational system for that reason. Sure, some images and ideals are a bit strong for small children, but we can't hide everything. I had to learn about the Holocaust and the horrors that occured by myself. I haven't seen any videos, because the pictures that I have seen made me sick, quite literally.
I can't even type that word. I never treated anyone differently based upon their racial background, or anything for that matter. Hell, my ancestors were slaves.
That's for sure. As a wise scholar once said, "If we do not learn from our past, history is bound to repeat itself."
You're right. And I hate that too.

I find it terrible. I mean, we are always fed with documents and said "remember, there's no absolute history book. No-one ever tells the truth. Read.", so I grew up believing everyone knew that "Arbeit macht frei" is written before entering Auschwitz, that people were deported and killed, that there's the blood of partesans as well as those of the Nazis on our soil. We have to learn we did terrible stuff: Crusades, nepotism, fascism... hell, we invented the banking system! How can we be saved?
And still, for everything bad, we were told something good:
the Turks close the Channel for the Indies - Europe needs food - Isabella de Castillia finishes murdering the Arabs and gi money to Columbus - Cristoforo Colombo (Columbus) discovers America - CortΓ©z destroys the Maya population - Colonization: more food for Europe
This is how we learn history: people dies to guarantee other people's lives. We're just lucky enough to be on this side of the world.
History keeps on repeating itself, because we are ruled by idiots and we learn it in a stupid way: war - dictator - king -war -war -war -new weapon makes that country stronger! -war - war. I mean, what if we studied the scientific progress, the social changes.....,

Don't worry. I'll save you and you can save me.
But hey! Let us not dwell on the negatives. There has been so much good that has happened. I'm not saying to forget the bad, but we cannot let it rule our life. It may influence our future decisions, but let's keep the positive on the forefront of our minds, shall we?
If we studied scientific progress and the like, our governments will not be able to control us as efficiently as they do.
Rank and power would mean nothing. Fear would not be such an effective tool for persuasion.

^^ Deal!
I suppose we can try, but to me, we all end up being bastards. Only trees are innocent.
Or maybe we would be ruled by the most clever people, who would force us to be either ignorant or clever as well.
I'll be reading a book on "Human Domination" once I'm free, be ready to discuss this topic.

BigE3618 In reply to Zanteh [2011-06-17 01:55:13 +0000 UTC]
Then it's settled!
You? A bastard? No more of one than I am. And trees are most certainly not innocent. Have you not heard them laugh at their fallen brethren?
Yes, I believe that would be so.
But back when they were deciding who would lead, power seemed more convincing than intellect.
...okay!
Oh, and just a little side note regarding that "fetish" of mine. Turns out I don't have that one. I don't want complete control, I've psychoanalyzed myself and it turns out all I really want is for someone to listen. Guess I was just missing you.

Yes, but I would laugh, too, if you fell in the middle of a wood!
And still, Freud would tell you: at first we were ruled by the strongest, now we're ruled by the most clever. For the most intelligent rule the political clas without exposing themselves.
So that's why you never replied! Okay... then, I'll put the chains away. *whistles*

BigE3618 In reply to Zanteh [2011-06-17 02:08:34 +0000 UTC]
;c;
Why would you laugh at me? Do you enjoy watching me be in pain?
Well, Freud might have been onto something, but what he said is not yet applicable. We may need a few more like us before we can make anything big change.
I never replied? I thought I did...
Now now, let's not be too hasty. I never said anything about chains.
It might be fun!

Yes! But I would help you out anyway.
And come on, who wouldn't laugh if you feel in a wood?
Hey, I'm a woman and I can vote. I can even become a politician. 50 years ago, no woman could dream of seeing Angela Merkel ruling a country. Or Barak Obama, if we want to mention the right of the black. Isn't that a change?
Sorry, then. Still, it never came. Whatever.
But they're fun... Okay, let's start with something softer, then.

I wouldn't! I'd be the one on the ground.
Touche.
No I feel like an ass, for making you wait. A gentleman never makes a lady wait.
What did you have in mind?

You would, for Red ants are amazing like that!
It's always the lady who keeps the other hanging, ain't it? Am I the only finding this saying stupid? I mean, if you got angry at me for being 40 minutes late, I would say "I'm sorry", nt "I'm a lady, I did it for fun!"
First, take off that ridiculous shirt of yours.

Can I assume that you're one of those Red ants? And that you're laughing at your work? ;n;
If you were 40 minutes late, hell, if you were 40 seconds late, I would not get angry. I would embrace you and thank God that you're okay.
Um...okay.
*takes off shirt*
Now what?

Hell, you found out. Now I shall stop tickling. OR maybe not? *tickles!!*
I would call you anyway, had something happened. Still, I would get angry for you not getting angry, then!
Lay still--- *and read the other message*

*seeing as trees are extremely ticklish, I burst out laughing*
Then I would sit there and take whatever punishment your angry would dish out.
Alright!
