Description
After making the Wonderbolts poster I had to try and make one for the Shadowbolts. I think it turned out fairly well for the first thing I've done that wasn't a straight vector trace from the show.As a general note: If you want to use the image for something besides personal use, please shoot me a message asking for permission.

The Shadowbolts are the Lunar Republic Equivalent to the Wonderbolts, but instead of manipulating weather patterns, the Shadowbolts use their flying to manipulate meteors, asteroids, even comets whenever possible. Lunar Pegasi were charged by Princess Luna to keep celestial objects from destroying the great tree, and were able to fly in space for prolonged periods of time to accomplish this task. Eventually these Lunar Pegasi would begin to have fun with their job, performing amazing tricks with Comets and Asteroids that every Lunar Pony in the Old Republic would come to see their antics at their job of protecting them. Almost every meteor shower between Luna's Banishment and Return to Equestria was caused by these acts. Over time, these teams of Lunar Pegasi would begin to call themselves the Shadowbolts in honor of their home on the Moon, and would often have a crowd of Lunar Ponies gathered in Craters to watch them have fun working; inspiring future generations of Lunar Pegasi to follow in their footsteps in Shower Management. Despite their flight abilities and overall speed, the Shadowbolts were unable to avoid being devoured by the Vashta Nerada 20 years ago, along with every other Lunar Pony in the republic in a single day. Viva, the daughter of a retired Shadowbolt trainer and very last of the Lunar Ponies, would be the last of the original Shadowbolts, and bearer of their legacy. Despite her powers to sow life from nothing, Luna kept "The-Skull-and-Wings" as the icon for the original Shadowbolts, for no Equestrian Pegasi (Save for Rainbow Dash herself) would ever compare to these Lunar Pegasi and their importance to her.

Those suits aren't just for show; they're designed to conceal the wearer from heat sensors and radar. Their goggles are compact NVGs (some are even dual mode NV/IR goggles).
The Shadowbolts are also used as more of a psychological weapon than the Wonderbolts, hence their "evil" appearance.

While this isn't being sold anywhere (I hope not at least) you are more than free to download the image and send it to a photocenter to get a big print of it. I got mine done at Costco and it ended up being $10-15.

Thanks for the head's up. I checked out their gallery, and it looks like they're just posting art from other people. They credited me in the title so I think I'll just let it alone for now. Still kinda weird to do that instead of just using the favorite button. Thanks again for letting me know!
