Description
Here's my own pitiful attempt at drawing a costume for one of the factions in my German folklore (Grimm)/wuxia fantasy setting, The Blackwood.

This is the typical outfit of a Sentinel, an ancient band of protectors that travel the forest, righting wrongs and helping the common folk. The main pieces of armor that they wear are a gambeson of boiled leather (the dark, vesty bit), under which they wear a short hauberk of chain, and under _that_ they wear a shin-length aketon of quilted linen. Altogether, it makes for a very sturdy, lightweight, and flexible defense.

Their main weapon is a falchion (seen on the left of the image), which they also use as a survival tool. Their off-hand is guarded by some kind of segmented gauntlet/buckler contraption, but I can't settle on anything that I really like.
