This would later be know as the Café incident. Jake and Waratah unexpectly encounter Susan in a local coffee shop. Jake mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to introduce Waratah to Susan. They didn't get along very well.

Indeed, thank you for the opportunity; inspiration is fickle, but always valuable. It may not be useful critique since I cannot put my finger on it, but there is just something about the dynamics of the scene - with Waratah splayed across the page, Susan looking almost more baffled at the turn of events than seriously hurt, and Jake trying to defuse the bomb even as the fireball expands - that brings an unlikely shot to mind: A slow guitar tune with absurd lyrics played entirely straight over the frozen frame of Waratah launching Susan right out of her flip-flops.
I do not know the exchange of words leading up to the (presumably one-sided) exchange of blows, so something tells me this is actually a rather serious scene with lasting consequences - but all the same, there is something very humorous about it.
On second thought, considering the lyrics have a good bit of snark and how it might be a bit of a sensitive subject that the feral thylacosmilus is extinct, Waratah herself might not have been amused... but that is another story.

The proceeding events are actually something I want to cover in another comic about these characters. The song actually fits in fairly well. Susan and Jake did try being more than friends but Susan called it off, breaking Jake's heart more than she knew. Susan is also involved in some shifty illegal dealings with both the black market and the occult and Waratah is to "strait edge" to approve of that. There is a lot under the surface with these three. Not least of all Waratah's intuition about what type of person Susan is. Jake tends to be rather oblivious to other people's motives since his own mode of operating is usually blunt and honest. This usually leaves him confused about other people's intentions.
A note Susan's real life species counterpart, the eastern barred banicoot, is extinct in the wild and now only exist in zoo populations because they can't deal with predatory cats and foxes.

Thanks I wanted to practice making it look dynamic without a reference. I think I could have been braver with the perspective and forshortening. I'll be doing more to experiment with this.
