Another reference drawing fo those of you who caught the preview sample of the story I'm writing. Here we havethe characters Arounia and Pedrin featured in the story.

Aronia is a Wulver, a term which describes lycanthope decedents who strongly display wolf like features but aren't able to exhibit the drastic physical changes of true werewolves.

People like Pedrin are referred to as an Urisk, referring to those who show more orc, goblin, or farie folk features.

These are however descriptive terms for both of these characters are of the same race and species of humans generally referred to as "Mud Folk" a term which was originally a slur given to them by the Elves. This group has adopted the term as the official title of their people in an act of defiance towards their originally world. They are now the majority population of Laxaria.

The Mud Folk display a huge variety of physical features owed to the melting pot of races that mingled in their heritage. Aronia has a pair of horn buds above her eyes a feature that is more pronounced in some males a full horns. Pedrin has quite a bit of lycanthrope blood himself seen most clearly in the way his body and facial hair grows in with two layers, long black guard hair and a light grey undercoat more like the fur of a wolf than human hair.

Other members of their people can display a host of derived features such as forked tongues, slited pupils, horns, fangs, tusk, tails, fur, and canine muzzles. Most individuals also experience some kind of hormonal induced mania associated with the full moon. Curfews are common and some may find it necessary to be physically resistaned to prevent from harming others. Yet this and may other cultural conventions and deviations of biology have just become commonplace aspects of life for these people.

In Laxaria the "Mud Folk" live as peirs to the humans and grovelhogs who see them as mutual members of society. I originally wanted them to be naturalized background characters in a story but the more lore I build for these people the more individual stories jump into my mind regarding these fascinating beings.
