I really struggle to draw him this time, It took several attempts, and it was originally going to be a sketch, but I'd rubbed out so many times it had gone weird. So I painted it, in acrylic rather than water colours like usual, since I ran out of white. ^^He's sinply thinking to himself, what? Maybe terror destruction and ruin, or cookies.
I did a green background because it's kinda neutral, like his expression.
Back to The Dark Ace, booyah! xD

Dya know; interesting thing is--as well as green being neutral; it's also quite and envious colour--which is interesting seeing as you've done his headpiece/tiara (what IS that thing called?

Green is a good colour. I don't wanna end up sparking controversy like I did when I gave him blue eyes. I thought jealousy though is good.
Why thanks, yeah his man tiara, normally I add yellow to give it a faded dull colour,but I wanted to brighten it up, since the split idea of thought compared to reality.

Trust me, giving him blue eyes sparks up no more controvesy than claiming he has a "Mother complex" with Cyclonis or that Piper's Aerrow's sister (trust me; all the wonderfully wacky theories out there and they pick up on THAT? xD; They gotta give ya a break, )
To be honest, I think the dulled silver suits him better in terms of context and characterization for this piece--his detachment, as ya say, really illustrates that point of "Supposed neutrality" between two metaphorical plains (Ya know, "That side VS This side"--where does this guy stand? ) So really; the contrasting tones between background and foreground aid the perception of "Greed is worth gold"--well to him anyway
And no problem! X3 I really love ya painting style; especially admire the ability to actually outline in paint too (Seriously; one of the toughest things yet

yeah, people's ideas are kinda good, and especially if you look at it in depth, some people just get all flared up. Yeash, the whole blue eye thing, I was told i should go check animeaddict because it's on their, he doesn't have blue eyes. I was trying to have more meaning to it and reflect different things, bah! xD
Yeah, the colour and brightness, or dullness in this case, does reflect more of a tear. He is that divide between sides.

Screw ya art teacher XD I wouldn't worry! I mean; this is a completely different style to the styles she's probably familiar with, right? So you WOULD have to outline so as to not lose certain details--what she's probably worried about is that whole "shading for realism thing"--but ya need to expand beyond that Anyway; so I'd just keep going where ya going with it

These people have no idea of interpretation and imagination sometimes. they just see that as this and this as that. Hmmm Starling and Aerrow looking alike... they do, they could... interesting. Hmmm, I guess by suggesting Aerrow and Piper might be related you ruin people's romantic beliefs of innocent love, but then again by saying that it could make more sense since the whole binding thing worked perhaps due to sibling love, rather than love... love. I dunno... *shrug*
Yeah, but it wasn't just that with the whole eyes thing, I wanted to show how everyone has this inner demon inside, like metaphorically, and Ace kinda let it surface.... you know like Milgram said and all. And eyes are like the insight into the person, so I thought before the evil came to surface he could reflect innocence. I just waffle. xD
Yeah, my art teacher always said I have good realistic sketching abilities, but I preferred painting. I regret not taking A level art, but happy too, I don't like being told what to draw. Lool ^_^
Hahaahah, yeah they are, all Miss Tew cared about was her hair. Miss Lovelock just wanted me to create displays from books for her.... Damn art teachers, oh and express my feelings through abstract, I failed that, got an E for abstract art. Mwha!

That would actually make sense though; and if, like ya said "Eyes are the windows to the soul"--can Ace really be completely blamed for what happened? I mean; was the 'inner demon' just there since he was born, or was it put there through possible indoctrination? (Ya know, like the "Cyclonia youth squad" they had? Maybe he was a heavy listener of propaganda and alternated thinking patterns? Bad place for it like where he was
And at the end of the day; that's what counts--you need the freedom to be able to expand upon and explore your own preference for your own stylised approach: that's the only way really that true art can ever be sought; through preference as well as comfort--and trust me, sometimes ya just can't get it from a classroom environment, but if it's anything ya don't really get 'told' what to draw in A-Level =3 I mean your choice like, but the projects are lenient in terms of picking your own theme xD; (But like I said; the 'outside the classroom' environment is probably the best place ever you could go for wanting to explore what you feel gains yourself a sense of progress and pride in ya stuff x3 )
