Description
Dr. Curt Connors lost his arm while serving as an army medic overseas. Honourably discharged, he returned to America with a new obsession in unlocking the secrets of reptillian regeneration, eventually creating a serum that he believed would help humans regrow missing limbs. Testing it on himself however, he was transformed into the savage Lizard. His berserk rampage was stopped by Spiderman, who devised a cure to transform Conners back to normal. A grateful Connors repaid the favour by helping Spiderman on a number of occassions.

The cure proved to be short-lived however, and Connors found himself transforming back into the lizard increasingly often. The Lizard was becoming a distinct seperate personality, one consumed with the desire to transform mankind into reptiles like himself for him to rule over. Over the years the Lizard became increasingly savage and feral, and Curt began to worry more about the consequences of his actions and lost all hope of ever finding a cure. The Lizard persona finally won, seemingly destroying what was left of Connors' mind and fleeing into the sewers of New York.
