Description
An immensely powerful being of pure psionic energy, Onslaught was created when Professor Charles Xavier attempted to wipe the mind of his former friend and enemy Magneto in order to put an end to his increasingly evil ways. During the process some of the darkest aspects of Magneto's personality seeped into Xavier's mind, merging with his own dark side to form a new entity. Onslaught would slowly grow more powerful, manipulating Xavier's will until he grew strong enough to manifest himself physically in the real world. Once free of Xavier, Onslaught engaged the combined forces of the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four in a massive battle that would leave half of the heroes presumed dead and Onslaught himself trapped in the Negative Zone.
