Description
As a baby Nathan Summers was sent into the future where the techno-organic virus he had been infected with could be treated. Here he was raised by the Askani and became the time-travelling freedom fighter Cable. Secretly however, the Askani had created a clone of the baby in case his techno-organic virus proved fatal. This clone was kept hidden and cryogenically suspended, but would be taken by Apocalypse's forces during an attack on an Askani base. Apocalypse named the clone Stryfe and would raise the child to follow his own ambitions. Once Stryfe reached adolescence however, Apocalypse revealed that he had always intended to use Stryfe's body as a host for his own soul to extend his mortality. Apocalypse's plans were foiled however, as Stryfe's true nature as a clone made him unsuitable for the transfer. Feeling betrayed by every parental figure in his life, Stryfe used his power to become a powerful warlord in his own right, amassing an army that would constantly hound his nemesis Cable. Stryfe has even followed Cable through time to the present on ocassion, clashing with the X-Men.
